The Högert hexagon socket spanners made of drop-forged chrome vanadium steel are available in different sizes from 8mm spanner width up to 32mm spanner width. This is an extended version with an overall length of 78mm, which is always identical regardless of the spanner width. The square drive socket in 1/2 inch size, which corresponds to an edge width of approx. 12.7 mm when converted to metric dimensions, also applies to all sockets so that they can be fitted and used on all ratchets, ratchets and torque spanners with a 1/2" socket. By using suitable socket adapters, the sockets are also suitable for 3/4"- or the smaller 1/4" ratchets.
1/2" hexagon socket spanner made of chrome vanadium steel in workshop quality with a 25-year guarantee.
Instead of selling the sockets in complete socket sets, we offer them individually from 8mm up to 32mm width across flats at favourable prices. Most of the sizes included in complete sets are rarely or never needed, so why spend money unnecessarily and instead buy the specific socket sizes needed for the specific or recurring tasks or industries. It is also possible to complete an existing set, which usually only go up to 21mm or 27mm, and to replace lost sockets by purchasing individual sockets in the required sizes cost-effectively.
Our high-quality sockets are made from chrome vanadium steel and are characterised by their robustness, durability and precision manufacturing. These tools fulfil the strict requirements of the German DIN 3121 standard, which defines specific standards for square drive sockets. The use of a particularly high-quality chrome vanadium steel alloy ensures that the sockets have a high level of strength, hardness and resistance to wear. This makes the sockets, which we offer in twenty different spanner widths from 8mm to 32mm, suitable for all areas of application where high torques and loads occur, such as in vehicle maintenance, construction, steel construction or industrial assembly, regardless of size.
The typical square drive for socket spanners, with a 1/2" (approx. 12.7 mm) socket, can be used with any standard 1/2" ratchet or torque spanner of the corresponding size without an additional adapter. The four surfaces of the square socket each have a pronounced ball catch groove. This ensures that the socket is always held securely and reliably on the square bolt of the ratchet and cannot come loose from the socket during screwing. Suitable adapters are available for ratchets with the smaller 1/4" square drive, as well as for the slightly larger 3/4" drive, which are inserted between the mounting bolt of the ratchet and the socket. Alternatively, we also offer high-quality Sockets from 8mm - 21mm with 3/4" drive , so that there is no need to purchase and use an adapter.
Particularly in hard-to-reach places, a socket is no longer sufficient, despite the extended version with a length of 78 mm, so an extension bar or universal joint is often used. Similar to a socket adapter, this is inserted between the ratchet and the required socket. In this case, it is also possible to use the 1/2 inch sockets with an adapter on a reversible ratchet with a different socket. Whether the corresponding adapter is used in front of the extension or behind it depends on whether the bar extension has the same drive size as our half-inch socket or whether the size of the socket is the same as that of the ratchet.
The drop-forged sockets are tools for professional use by workshops, craftsmen and assembly companies. In car workshops in particular, 1/2-inch sockets are often used to loosen or tighten nuts and bolts during maintenance work or vehicle repairs. This can include working on engine mounts, brake systems, wheel suspensions and other parts. In the construction industry, 1/2-inch sockets can be used for the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, steel structures and other construction projects. In agriculture, 1/2-inch sockets are primarily used in the maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment, such as tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment. The situation is similar in industrial and plant engineering, where sockets are used for the manufacture and maintenance of machines, machine components and equipment. The maintenance of conveyor systems, pumps and other industrial equipment is also a possible area of application. Sockets are used to tighten or loosen screws when assembling furniture or other furnishings. This can involve assembling the furniture itself as well as fastening it to the wall, ceiling or floor. The extended design of our sockets is particularly noticeable here, as this makes handling much easier, especially if the use of an extension between the ratchet and socket is not possible due to a lack of space. The list of examples for the use of sockets could be continued ad infinitum, as there is hardly a profession in which this useful tool is not used. Even in most households, a simple ratchet box or a toolbox with a reversible ratchet and the most common sockets is standard equipment in the hobby cellar or garage.
The very high manufacturing quality of our chrome vanadium sockets will satisfy even the most demanding users. With an incredible 25-year manufacturer's guarantee, we offer our customers the certainty that they can count on reliable tools that meet the highest standards in the long term. Whether for repairs, assembly work or maintenance tasks, the high-quality sockets from Högert are an excellent choice and offer high wear resistance that is not impaired even under heavy use, so that the sockets fulfil their purpose for decades and generations to come.
