The hexagon socket spanner set in long version with 1/4" drive consists of eight different sockets in a set. Thanks to the production from drop-forged chrome vanadium steel in workshop quality, the tool is suitable without hesitation for professional use in car workshops, bicycle workshops or craft workshops. The socket set includes sizes with metric width across flats in 5.5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 12mm and 13mm. The length of each hexagon socket is 50mm. This makes them perfect for loosening and tightening hexagon bolts and nuts, and they can also be used for longer cap nuts where sockets of normal length usually have too shallow a profile depth.
Professional hexagon socket spanner set in workshop quality with 25-year guarantee.
The sockets can be stored in a practical holder in a space-saving and clearly arranged way. This saves you the tedious search for the right size and you always have a perfect overview of the tool. An eyelet on the top of the plastic holder allows it to be hung on the wall in the workshop or hobby cellar.
Sockets are a useful tool in any workshop or garage and are used to loosen or tighten screws and nuts. The 1/4" square drive is the smallest, most common size and is used especially for smaller sockets. Especially in the automotive industry or in two-wheel mechanics, where all screws and nuts have to be tightened with certain torques, this size has become established, so that the hexagon socket spanner set is an ideal supplement to the torque spanner in the bicycle tool. Our sockets from the set, at 50mm, are more than twice as long as simple sockets, and are therefore also ideally suited for loosening and tightening cap nuts, where sockets of normal length can usually no longer be used. The same applies when screwing our balcony screws with 8mm cap nuts. Here, too, the version with a higher profile depth is perfectly suited to securely tighten the longer cap nuts with a ratchet.
The square drive on sockets, which is common for use on a reversible ratchet, has a size of 1/4" on the hexagon sockets included in the set and can be fitted and used on any standard 1/4" ratchet or torque spanner with square pin without an adapter. With socket adapters from 3/8" to 1/4" the small sockets can also be mounted on a 3/8" ratchet. In this case, the adapter is used between the socket and the reversible ratchet. For larger ratchets with a 1/2" drive, corresponding adapters are also available. The use of extension rods, which are inserted between the socket and the ratchet, is also widespread in order to be able to loosen or tighten deeper screws more easily. These are also available in different sizes. If the size of the ratchet drive differs, the extension rod is either used first on the ratchet, and then the socket adapter with the hexagon socket spanner, or in the reverse order. the square drive of a ratchet, a torque spanner, an adapter, as well as with an extension rod, is usually provided with a spring-loaded ball. A ball catching groove in the inner square drive of our sockets receives the ball at the appropriate point and thus ensures a firm, secure connection of the tool without the socket accidentally coming loose from the square drive.
The drop-forged sockets are high-quality tools for professional use and are aimed at hobby, craft and industrial users who demand high quality. The high-quality alloy of chrome and vanadium from which the sockets are made gives the tool enormous resistance to wear, so that the hexagon sockets have an unbeatable service life even with regular use, for example with tightly fitted screws or high tightening torques. This is impressively confirmed by a manufacturer's guarantee of 25 years. The high quality of the chrome vanadium steel (CrV) makes sockets ideal for use in demanding environments where absolute reliability and high load capacity are essential. Thanks to the precise workmanship and robust construction, the sockets ensure an excellent grip when loosening and tightening hexagon bolts and nuts and allow for easy and efficient operation.
