Our transition profiles made of soft PVC with a width of 35mm and a length of 1000mm are available in the colours black, grey, brown or beige. They are equipped with a reliable self-adhesive on the back, which has an extremely good adhesive strength on all common floor coverings as well as on smooth walls, wood, wall tiles or concrete thanks to a very strong double-sided adhesive tape over the entire surface. This means that the plastic profiles can be used for countless indoor applications.
The inexpensive polyvinyl chloride floor profiles are available from us in four different colours and can be used in an extremely versatile way as a transition profile on the floor, for slip protection on steps or impact protection on walls. The self-adhesive profiles are even ideal for decorative purposes thanks to the attractive choice of colours.
NOTE: The profiles are 25mm longer for production reasons. However, the plastic profiles made of soft PVC can be shortened very easily with standard scissors.
The PVC floor profiles have a width of 35mm and a total height of approx. 3.1mm and are provided with eight coarse grooves on the upper side to ensure a non-slip tread. The length of 1000mm is sufficient to insert the profile under the door leaf between the door frame as a threshold profile. Due to the perforated suspension, which is only useful for simpler sales in stationary retail, the actual length is around 25mm longer, but this length cannot be used effectively due to the cut-out. The back is covered with a specifically strong adhesive tape that ensures tight adhesion to almost all smooth, non-porous surfaces. This is covered with an easily removable protective film for protection.
Thanks to the soft PVC production, the profiles are extremely flexible, so that they can withstand certain unevenness in the surface and can even be glued lengthways around radii, which is extremely useful for round pillars in underground car parks, for example, if they are to be used as impact protection. Another misuse of the floor profile in wall mounting is in garages with wall brackets for high-quality bicycles, where the self-adhesive plastic profiles protect the wall from dirty bicycle tyres or from impact on the steering wheel or frame.
The floor profile can be installed wherever small transitions between two floor coverings need to be bridged where dust, dirt or water could otherwise accumulate. It can also be attached to the wall as impact and edge protection, as well as decoration on furniture, thanks to the different colours. At the end of the tread surface of marble, tiled or wooden steps, the soft adhesive profiles serve as a non-slip boundary for the step due to the large grooves, thus preventing slipping on wet shoe soles. Handling the PVC transition profiles is extremely simple. The first step is to determine exactly where they are to be fitted and cut the profile to the required length. Shortening the floor profile is easy thanks to the soft PVC production. It can be cut very precisely with large scissors. Even diagonal cuts, as well as small cut-outs, can be realised very easily in this way.
NOTE: To prevent dust and dirt from reducing the self-adhesion on the back, all surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and dried before the profile is applied.
After cleaning, the PVC floor profile can be fitted. As it is made of soft PVC, this can even be done on slightly uneven floors or around round pillars. Thanks to the full-surface bonding, it is sufficient to press the profile firmly onto the surface to achieve full adhesion. The easiest way to achieve precise positioning is to remove just a little of the protective film on the back of the profile and attach the profile to the desired position with this short piece. The protective film is now used to define the intended course of the plastic profile and the detached end of the yellow film is carefully pulled out from under the profile while applying a little pressure to the gradually exposed self-adhesive.
