The self-adhesive aluminium floor profiles are 40mm wide and 1000mm long and are available in silver, Sahara, gold or matt stainless steel. They are made of solid aluminium with a thickness of approx. 1.7mm and have a slightly curved profile shape, resulting in a total height of 4.6mm. The reliable self-adhesive backing is suitable for all solid floor coverings with smooth, non-porous surfaces. The smooth surface of the anodised aluminium, which is available in four colours, has a particularly high-quality and decorative effect.
Our floor profiles are shrink-wrapped with a robust protective film to protect the smooth surfaces and prevent damage to the satin-finish profiles during handling and transport. A yellow adhesive film on the back of the profile also prevents dirt from adhering to the adhesive strips after unpacking before they are stuck to the surface.
NOTE: With a material thickness of 1.7mm, these very thin yet extremely rigid floor profiles with a length of 100cm are ideal for the transition of two floor coverings between the door frame. For narrower frame widths, shortening is very easy with a hacksaw. Perfectly straight cuts are ensured with a simple chop and mitre saw. Regardless of the type of saw, the saw blade should be suitable for light metals such as aluminium.
The 40mm floor profile is made of solid aluminium. This is finished with a high-quality anodised layer to colour the surfaces, which gives the aluminium profiles a uniform satin matt surface in silver, sahara, gold or stainless steel look. The length of the self-adhesive profiles is 1000mm and is therefore sufficient to use the profiles for all normal interior doors as a transition between two adjoining rooms with different floors. The 40mm width covers transitions of around 25mm and is due to the two adhesive strips along the outer edges, which are each around 5mm wide and therefore ensure an excellent contact surface for perfect adhesion.
The curved floor profiles with a total height of 4.6mm can be used for all standard fixed floors and subfloors indoors. These include tiles, glued vinyl flooring, natural stone, quartz stone carpets, floors with epoxy resin coating and parquet. The self-adhesive aluminium profiles are not suitable for porous substrates such as limestone, screed, carpet or floating floor coverings, as is common for laminate or click vinyl flooring. In addition, the profiles are unsuitable for floors with a difference in height, so that a special adjustment profile is required to compensate for the different floor thicknesses. Completely misused, but not completely unfounded, the smooth profiles also serve very well as decorative mouldings to enhance and decorate smooth, even surfaces. There are virtually no limits to creativity here.
WARNING: Aluminium, like any other metal, is subject to physical laws. This also applies to changes in length with falling or rising temperatures. These changes in size are greater when used outdoors, but are expected to be negligible indoors. Because the elongation and shortening of the floor profile can affect the long-term effectiveness of the bond, the self-adhesive profiles are only suitable for indoor applications. For outdoor applications, we also offer the profiles in the same size and colour selection in a perforated version for screwing on.
The self-adhesive floor profile with a smooth, slightly curved surface has a length of 100cm and can be installed without any tools, provided it does not need to be shortened. Cutting the profile to size also requires no special tools and can be done by hand using a standard hacksaw with a metal blade, which can be found in almost every household. To do this, transfer the dimensions to the profile. A little masking tape can be used to protect the surface from slipping with the saw blade. However, using a chop saw is quicker and ensures a precise cut.
NOTE: The smooth aluminium profiles with self-adhesive are suitable for all even, non-porous surfaces, provided that dust, dirt or other impurities do not impair the adhesive strength. It is therefore very important that the surfaces are properly cleaned and dried before the profiles are attached.
Once it has been ensured that dust, dirt and residual moisture can no longer affect the bonding, the profile can be glued in place. To do this, remove the yellow protective film, position the floor profile and then press firmly along its entire length. To facilitate precise positioning, it can be helpful to remove only a small section of the protective film from the back and align the profile along the markings on the installation surface. As soon as the short area adheres to the profile surface by applying pressure, the robust protective strip can be removed from under the profile while the exposed adhesive is pressed on by hand. Even if it is not necessary in most cases, briefly weighting the profile can improve adhesion.
