Base with M8 thread for construction profiles

Secure stand ✓ Height-adjustable ✓ High load capacity ✓

Our Ø 50mm feet for construction profiles made of robust polyamide with M8 thread are available in three different versions with a thread length of 50mm, 80mm or 100mm. The galvanised carbon steel thread allows the foot to be adjusted very precisely in height, to achieve a perfect and firm stand, even on uneven floors, making it ideal for patio furniture or as an adjustable foot for machine constructions or storage racks. A locknut reliably secures the foot so that it cannot loosen and twist due to vibrations or mechanical stress.

Unlike many other levelling feet, the large base on the underside is completely closed and has a nubby structure. This ensures a secure, non-slip stand and distributes the weight optimally over the entire surface on the ground, so that even with softer floor coverings, there is no risk of marks. The use of levelling feet also protects sensitive floors from damage caused by sharp-edged profile ends. Depending on the design and screw-in depth, the load capacity of a single foot is between 60kg and 100kg, making it perfectly suitable for heavier constructions in equipment manufacturing.

Scope of delivery:

  • 1 x Ø50mm levelling foot with M8 thread (in selected length)
  • 1 x M8 locknut (SW14)

NOTE: After reaching the desired screw-in depth, the enclosed locknut can be tightened towards the end of the profile, thus preventing the stand from twisting over time due to mechanical stress or vibrations, causing the construction to wobble.

Properties of the adjustable plastic feet

The levelling feet are the perfect alternative to our plastic end caps for all free-standing constructions that need to be secure and wobble-free. The feet consist of two components that are firmly attached to each other. The base itself, with a completely closed footprint of 50mm in diameter and a height of 25mm, is made of polyamide. This is an engineering plastic with high strength and rigidity, excellent impact resistance, and good abrasion and wear resistance, which ensures an extremely long service life, even under heavy loads. Thanks to their excellent resistance to fuels, fats and oils, the levelling feet are perfectly suited for equipment constructions and shelving systems in automotive workshops. The thread, which is firmly attached to the foot, has a permanently attached nut on the underside, which makes it easier to screw the thread into the construction profile. Both the threaded rod and the two nuts are made of galvanised carbon steel. This surface-refined alloy is extremely strong and also greatly reduces the risk of contact corrosion, which can occur when stainless steel comes into contact with aluminium in damp conditions.

The base is identical in all three versions. Only the thread length varies from 50mm to 100mm, so that the higher possible screw-in depth increases the individual load capacity. The further the thread is screwed into the construction profile, the higher the load capacity due to the weight for a single levelling foot, so that the largest with a thread length of 100mm has a maximum load capacity of 100kg. The thread size is identical for all profiles, with a diameter of 8mm. This makes the adjustable feet suitable for all construction profiles with a through-hole that has an M8 internal thread or a hole diameter that is such that the thread can be cut without hesitation. For our profiles, the use of the adjustable feet is limited to the profile sizes with 30mm and 40mm edge width, whose through-hole with 6.8mm is the perfect size to directly screw in an M8 tap and cut the required internal thread without further drilling. The smaller 20x20 T6 profile has a through-hole with a diameter of only 5.1 mm, which corresponds to a possible thread diameter of 6 mm.

NOTE: Please note that the minimum height of the levelling foot, including the screw-in nut and the locknut, is 35 mm. This dimension should be taken into account when shortening the profiles, especially in projects where the height dimensions must be strictly adhered to for design reasons.

Installing levelling feet with threaded rods

The levelling feet with the permanently integrated threaded rod are the perfect addition for machine and furniture constructions made of construction profiles and are screwed into the through-hole, which is located in the centre of the profile cross-section. The screw-in depth should be at least 20mm in order to achieve a secure and firm fit in the thread of the profile. The greater the screw-in depth, the higher the load capacity of the feet, which is particularly important for higher loads. A 12 mm spanner is required to screw in the thread, with which the adjusting nut can be turned very easily. This is located at the end of the thread, directly in front of the large plastic foot. They are screwed on clockwise and loosened in the opposite direction. This also allows the height to be adjusted very precisely. We recommend turning the locknut down quite a way towards the foot beforehand to have enough play when screwing the stand foot into the profile. Once the desired height has been reached, the loose nut can easily be turned back up towards the profile and fixed with a 14mm spanner.

The fine thread of the levelling feet allows the height to be adjusted with great precision, ensuring that the construction is firm and secure. This can be a great advantage, especially for machines where very precise levelling is crucial. This is of great importance, for example, for our large 3-axis CNC milling machines, because if these are not perfectly aligned, it has a negative effect on the manufacturing tolerances of our milled parts, especially in the Z-axis. Thanks to the locknut, the feet cannot twist, for example, due to machine vibrations.

TIP: The easiest way to align the feet precisely is to stand the construction in the desired location and take any unevenness in the floor into account directly. This is done by turning the nut firmly attached to the foot using a 12mm spanner. Please note that this will only work if the locknut has not already been tightened. This should only be done after the final alignment.

The levelling feet are not only an excellent choice for machine and plant construction, but also ensure that tables and seating furniture stand securely. Thanks to their height adjustability, they can be used to perfectly level out uneven patio floors so that the table does not wobble and coffee spills over the edge of the cup. The levelling feet are also extremely well suited for outdoor kitchens built from construction profiles and protect the patio floor. But it doesn't have to be just the patio. A room-high shelf, as well as a homemade wardrobe, can be given a secure footing by adjustable feet, without it falling over and tipping over when loaded unevenly. As a replacement for a broken foot on the base cabinet of the kitchen unit, a stand can also be useful. All you need to do is hammer or screw a drive-in nut into the wooden surface.

Examples of applications for our finely adjustable levelling feet

  • The levelling feet protect sensitive floor coverings from scratches caused by sharp-edged profile ends
  • The feet are perfectly suited for constructions made of our 30mm and 40mm construction profiles
  • The counternut ensures that the feet do not move, even on machines with mechanical movement
  • The levelling feet can be precisely aligned and are ideal for levelling out uneven floors
  • The adjustable feet are ideal for garden furniture or outdoor kitchens with a wobble-free stand
