Our silver construction profiles 30x30 groove 8 made of anodised aluminium correspond in their design to system profiles of type I with the typical rounded outer edges and can therefore be combined with all common profiles of this type. The four open grooves with a groove width of 8mm are arranged in the centre of the 30mm wide surfaces. Thanks to the anodised layer, these are evenly smooth with an appealing satin matt gloss level. However, anodising not only improves the appearance of the profiles. It also improves their resistance to weathering, which is already very high due to the excellent corrosion resistance of the aluminium alloy. These ideal conditions mean that the robust aluminium profiles can be used without restriction for indoor and outdoor constructions, without affecting the durability or longevity of the appearance. To ensure that the attractive surfaces are not damaged during processing and scratching, the profiles are all individually shrink-wrapped in a robust film that can be easily removed.
The 30x30mm construction profile is perfectly suited for applications requiring high load-bearing capacity at a low dead weight due to its high section modulus. In addition, a profile width of 30mm appears significantly more delicate than a construction with a 40mm system profile. This is particularly noticeable when used to set up shelving systems in service vehicles, resulting in additional space savings. The possibilities are almost endless, thanks to its suitability for indoor and outdoor use. Furthermore, the countless accessories that are perfectly matched to a profile width of 30mm make it very easy to implement a wide range of projects, from do-it-yourself projects to complex commercial constructions with a high degree of flexibility and expandability.
NOTE: In addition to the construction profiles in 30mm width with 8mm grooves, we offer a wide range of accessories. These include, among other things, 8mm T-slot grooves, optionally with or without spring ball, 30mm end caps, adjustable feet, swivel castors, profile connectors and mounting brackets in a wide range of designs. All installation materials, like our profiles, can be combined with all system profiles of type I.
The construction profiles in silver consist of corrosion-resistant aluminium that is anodised in aluminium silver. This not only improves protection against weathering, but also achieves an even surface with a satin finish. The square profiles, with an identical width and depth of 30mm, have a central groove of 6.2mm in width on each side to accommodate slot grooves or connecting elements. The outer corners are slightly rounded, which primarily serves to ensure compatibility with I-type system profiles. This design also has a more appealing visual effect. The radius of this rounding is Ø 2.5mm. The aluminium profiles are available in full length, shortened to one metre in the middle, or cut to the millimetre. They are manufactured for us in our standard length of 2005mm. We place great value on a high-quality EN AW 6063 T5 alloy. It is characterised by a very high load-bearing capacity and durability in indoor and outdoor applications, for example, for the construction of modular and adaptable shelving systems in garages and workshops or for building individual patio furniture.
The 30mm construction profiles are suitable for significantly higher loads than the small 20mm profiles. The moment of inertia (Ix, Iy) coincides with a value of 2,35cm4and is absolutely convincing. This means that the lightweight profile is extremely resistant to twisting around its own axis. The situation is similar for the section modulus (Wx, Wy), which provides specific information about the deflection strength under load. Here, too, with 1,57cm3 the value is rather high. This is due to the fact that it is made of an EN AW 6063 T5 aluminium alloy. In combination with a special profile design, the profile thicknesses in the respective areas allow for high loads. Yet, a reduced dead weight is enabled. The construction profile, for example, with a width of 30mm and 8mm grooves, weighs just 0.742kg/m and is ideal for applications where weight is an important factor. Whether it is in vehicle conversion, trailer superstructures or supporting structures for solar systems on the roof. To ensure consistent quality, our aluminium profiles are subject to strict quality control with regard to their visual and mechanical properties, as well as for compliance with dimensional accuracy. The extrusion process in accordance with EU standard EN 12020 is deliberately carried out with a length tolerance of plus 5mm. Meaning, when we deliver a profile in standard length we can ensure that the length of 2 metres is never fallen short of. For the offered profile length of 1 metre, as well as for all custom-made orders, the cutting is done in our production facilities with a special profile saw from Kaltenbach. The saw enables us to achieve highly precise cuts with an enormous degree of dimensional accuracy.
The system profiles with the rounded corners are compatible with all common I-type system profiles with 8mm slot width and are therefore wonderfully suited for complementing and expanding existing constructions. Our product range also includes countless matching aids for connecting the profiles or fasteners such as sliding grooves, optionally with spring balls or for easy insertion through the open groove, hammer head screws or mounting brackets for reinforcing profile connections, which can be combined with both our own construction profiles and identical mounting profiles with an 8mm groove width.
The so-called through-hole, which is located in the centre of the profile cross-section, is not used for weight reduction, even if this is of course also a positive side effect. Rather, it is a very versatile way of incorporating the profile ends into the construction. With a diameter of 6.8mm, this hole, which goes completely through the profile, is perfectly suited for cutting an M8 thread with a tap. This can be done very easily by hand, because aluminium is easy to work with. The internal thread means that our adjustable feet or our castors, which we offer with or without brakes, can now also be screwed into the thread. In addition, angle connectors with adjustable angles are available that are precisely matched to the profile cross-section and screwed into the through-hole of the construction profile with a cylinder screw. These are always included with our connectors and thus enable a very fast profile connection that can be adjusted at any time and at any angle, which is an enormous advantage, especially when it comes to the precise alignment of photovoltaic modules and in the construction of small greenhouses. For simple end caps, the through-hole does not need to be machined. These are simply placed on the end of the profile and pressed firmly until they are flush with the cut edge of the profile.
Our system profiles are made of anodised aluminium. A light metal that is characterised by being particularly easy to work with. It can be cut or drilled very easily and, for example, tapping a thread to screw castors or feet into the through-hole is also very easy with the appropriate tools. Thanks to a wide range of accessories that match the 8mm groove system, even complex and stable constructions can be created very quickly with very simple tools, which would require significantly more effort with other profiles or other materials. Since we offer the 30mm construction profiles cut to the millimetre, a saw is not usually needed for shortening. In most cases, a PZ2 Phillips screwdriver, a Inbus®-wrench set and a spanner set are therefore sufficient. Which tools are actually needed always depends, of course, on the system components required to construct the planned structure.
The 30mm construction profiles have four open grooves with an 8mm groove width, into which the internal profile connectors can be inserted to extend the profiles or to screw them together at a right angle. These are then fastened with grub screws with an internal hexagon drive. Our profile connectors always include the grub screws. Sliding blocks are the ideal choice for mounting handles or angle brackets on the profile. These are also supplied with the appropriate screws. Depending on the design, the sliding blocks are either inserted into the profile rail or inserted into the profile through the groove with a slight clockwise turn. This way, countless accessories, cable ducts or even cover plates can be attached to the profiles.
TIP: If you have a mitre saw, it is easy to cut the aluminium profiles to size. Yet, thanks to the light metal, which is very easy to work with, shortening is very quick with a simple hacksaw with a metal saw blade. It is even easier to order the profiles directly to size.
The 30x30mm construction profile is ideal for all constructions where the load is insufficient for a 20x20mm profile due to the lower section modulus. Yet, a 40mm profile would be completely over-dimensioned. The weight of the profiles is only slightly higher due to the hollow chamber construction. Typical examples can be found in both commercial and industrial applications, as well as in the realisation of numerous DIY projects. From sturdy bicycle racks or hangers, which can also be mounted on a wall, to versatile storage systems for tools, equipment and materials with drawers, holders and shelves. Such constructions can be precisely adapted to your needs and, if necessary, modified or expanded with little effort.
The medium-sized aluminium profiles are also extremely useful for outdoor applications. They can be used for a shelter for rubbish bins, which can be covered with weatherproof HPL panels, for a small tool shed with a door and window or for a small canopy over the house entrance. The system profiles can even be used as a robust yet lightweight table and seating furniture in the garden, as a substructure for privacy screens on balconies or terraces, as a base frame for a raised bed, or a small greenhouse with lightweight acrylic or polycarbonate panels. Thanks to the very easy handling and the extensive range of accessories, you can order all the necessary components, even the panels for cladding, to match.
