Facade rivets in anthracite (RAL 7016) with facade approval

UV- & weather-resistant ✓ Scratch-resistant head coating ✓ Made in Germany ✓

The facade rivets in anthracite with a large head diameter of 16mm have a head coating in the RAL colour anthracite grey (RAL7016). As large-head blind rivets, these are mostly used for the construction of facade cladding with HPL panels, which is why we have specially matched the colour and gloss level of the paint to our HPL panels in RAL 7016. To ensure that the rivets can also be used in the commercial sector for the installation of facade cladding, all our aluminium facade rivets have a building authority approval for HPL panels and aluminium composite panels from various manufacturers. Depending on the panel material used, the facade approval depends on the size of the rivet, which we supply in 5mm diameter in lengths of 14mm, 16mm and 18mm.

Made in Germany - a label that stands for excellent quality. For this reason, all our facade rivets, regardless of size and colour, are manufactured in Germany. Even the scratch-resistant lacquering in anthracite is carried out directly by our manufacturer in Germany and is carried out with the highest precision in terms of colour and gloss level. The rivets themselves are made of a high-quality aluminium alloy, which is characterised by an extremely high durability and very good corrosion resistance. The rivet mandrel, which presses the rivet sleeve together when creating the rivet joint, is made of stainless steel and contributes to the fact that very high tightening torques can be achieved before the mandrel travels at the predetermined breaking point and is pulled out of the blind rivet.

With our facade rivets we offer you maximum flexibility. Both in terms of the extensive range of products and the quantity, because you can buy the rivets from us in any quantity you like - starting from one piece, without any minimum quantity or fixed packaging units. You also benefit from our generous discounts, which are automatically taken into account depending on the quantity ordered.

    Scope of delivery:
  • 1 x Facade rivet with head coating in anthracite grey (RAL 7016)

TIP: For riveting the facade rivets in anthracite you need a riveting tool for blind rivets.

Characteristics of our facade rivets in anthracite grey

The facade rivets have a scratch-resistant head coating in RAL 7016, the colour and gloss of which has been precisely matched to our HPL panels in anthracite. However, they are not only suitable for inconspicuous installation of our HPL panels, but also for HPL panels from many other manufacturers whose surfaces correspond to the RAL colour anthracite grey. In addition, it is also possible to attach many other plastic panels in anthracite, for example our aluminium composite panels. The large 16mm head is not only typical for facade rivets, but also fulfils a certain purpose, because in the case of coverings with panels that expand when heated, it is necessary to drill one hole as a fixed point in the size of the rivet and the other holes as sliding point holes with a larger drill bit. With HPL plates, sliding points with a diameter of 8mm are common. Larger sliding point drillings up to 10mm in diameter are also conceivable. Based on the 5mm diameter of the rivet sleeve, 5.5mm of the rivet head protrusion remains, so that holes in 10mm are always completely covered by the rivet.

Our facade rivets are weatherproof and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The high-quality, scratch-resistant coating of the large rivet head is also UV- and weather-resistant, so that there is no risk of the grey colour fading even in adverse weather conditions or strong UV radiation.

WARNING: Our aluminium facade rivets can only be used if the substructure on which the facade panels are to be attached is also made of aluminium. Aluminium rivets are not suitable for structures made of steel or stainless steel, as the different metal alloys favour contact corrosion, which can have a negative effect on the appearance and durability of the rivet joint. Use facade rivets made of a steel alloy instead.

When choosing a facade rivet, make sure that the clamping range varies depending on the length of the sleeve. This refers to the facade panel to be installed plus the material thickness of the substructure. The clamping range must neither be exceeded nor undercut in order to guarantee a secure hold of the facade rivet.

    Clamping area:
  • Facade rivet anthracite 5x14mm: min. 5,5mm-max. 9,0mm
  • Facade rivet anthracite 5x16mm: min. 7,0mm-max. 10,5mm
  • Facade rivet anthracite 5x18mm: min. 9,0mm-max. 12,5mm

Facades clad with facade rivets in anthracite

Facade rivets are blind rivets with a large head diameter of 16mm, which is why they are often referred to as large head blind rivets. The assembly with blind rivets is carried out on one side by inserting the rivet with the sleeve first through the holes of the facade panel and the substructure until the rivet head rests on the panel. Then the mandrel, which protrudes centrally from the rivet head on the front side, is inserted into the nose piece of the blind riveting tool and pulled in by actuating the tool until the mandrel breaks at the predefined point. This squeezes the rivet sleeve together and creates a strong and permanent joint which can be loaded immediately.

A conventional nose piece can be used for fixed riveted joints between two plates. If a constraint-free assembly is required, which ensures that the plate is free from tension after assembly, a special gauge mouthpiece must be used for sliding points. This is applicable to cladding of facades and balconies with HPL panels or aluminium composite panels, because these materials expand when exposed to heat (e.g. direct sunlight, high ambient temperatures, etc.). These special mouthpieces are precisely matched to the contour of our facade rivets and ensure the required gap distance between the surface of the panel and the rivet head. Since this gap distance varies depending on the material of the plate, it is very important that the correct special gauge mouthpiece is also used.

    Matching mouthpieces:
  • Special gauge mouthpiece type ALU-16: For aluminium composite panels (e.g. Aludibond, Alucobond, Alpolic, Alucom, etc.)
  • Special gauge mouthpiece type HPL-16: For HPL panels (incl. Trespa®, Kronoplan, Fundermax, Resopal, etc.)
  • Special gauge mouthpiece type HPL-16: For fibre cement boards (e.g. Eternit, Promat, Fermacell, etc.)

The large-head rivets with facade approval are mainly used for mounting facade panels on an aluminium substructure. However, this does not mean that they have to be used exclusively for this purpose. The high-quality anthracite lacquering also allows for an inconspicuous installation of aluminium composite panels, e.g. as kitchen back wall, as fixed room divider or also in furniture design. Furthermore, it is quite possible to join two plastic panels together with the rivets. Either by riveting the panels directly together, or with aluminium brackets or flat connectors. Regardless of the area of application for which you want to use the blind rivets, however, you must always pay attention to the clamping area.

The hollow rivet of our facade rivets has a diameter of 5mm. Drill holes for rivet joints should, however, always be one to two tenths of a millimetre larger, so that the rivet can be placed without any problems. For this purpose, we offer a high-quality HSS drill in profile-ground quality with a diameter of 5.1mm in our online shop. This is best suited for drilling holes in substructures, as well as for aluminium composite panels, angles and flat connectors made of aluminium. If an installation has to be carried out stress-free, as is often the case with facade cladding or balcony surrounds, a distinction has to be made in the drilling of the panel not only according to the material, but also according to sliding point drillings and fixed point drillings. When riveting a constraint-free installation, both the substructure and the fixed points must be drilled with a drill bit diameter of 5.1 mm. The sliding points, on the other hand, should be drilled larger in order to ensure that there is room for the expansion of the panels. However, this only applies to holes drilled in the panel and not to the holes in the supporting structure. Depending on the material, a drill with a diameter of 8.0mm to a maximum of 10.0mm should be selected.

The listed brand names Trespa®, Kronoplan, Fundermax, Resopal, Aludibond, Alucobond, Alpolic, Alucom, Eternit, Promat and Fermacell are registered trademarks and serve only as examples for the usability of our facade rivets in anthracite. Whether a facade approval is guaranteed for a panel from the respective manufacturer must be checked in each individual case.
