Our black balcony screws correspond to the colour RAL9005 (Jet Black) and consist of five individual components, all of which are made of a high-quality A2 stainless steel alloy, except for the self-adhesive polyscreen. This alloy is characterised by very good corrosion and UV resistance, making the screws equally suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. The lenticular screw head with a diameter of 16mm and Torx drive is painted black. The scratch-resistant paint is also weatherproof and UV-resistant. The thread diameter of the balcony screws is 5mm, regardless of the length. The length of the metric M5 thread varies and has different values for the clamping range and its minimum and maximum values, depending on the chosen version.
You can buy your balcony screws from us in any quantity, even if you only need one screw, because only in the rarest of cases does your requirement coincide with fixed packaging units. Another advantage is that our online shop automatically takes into account quantity discounts of up to 30%.
TIP: To screw the black threaded screws, you need a Torx bit size T20, as well as an 8mm spanner. These are not included in the delivery.
In order to allow the screws to be used outside for balcony cladding or other applications, all individual parts of the black balcony screws are made of stainless, corrosion and UV-resistant stainless steel. The only exception is the self-adhesive poly disc, which is glued between the substructure and the cladding panel. This consists of a weatherproof plastic. The total length of the screws varies depending on the thread length chosen, whereby about 2mm are added to the thread length, which is allotted to the round screw head. This means that a balcony screw M5 x 30mm has a total length of approx. 32mm plus cap nut. Safety is an extremely important aspect, especially for balcony surrounds. For this reason, our balcony screws are doubly secured against self-loosening of the cap nut. On the one hand, the screws are coated with thread locking varnish in the thread area where the cap nut is placed and on the other hand, a spring washer inserted between cap nut and washer prevents the cap nut from loosening due to vibrations of the balcony cladding.
Our balcony screws have a weatherproof and scratch-resistant head coating in jet black, which corresponds to RAL colour 9005 (Jet Black). The UV-resistance of the lacquer prevents the deep black tone from fading over time due to sunlight. For a largely inconspicuous installation, the colour and gloss of the lacquer has been precisely matched to our black HPL panels. However, the screws are equally suitable for all black plastic panels that we offer in our online shop and can be used very well for our black aluminium composite panels or ASA/ABS panels in black, for example.
The clamping range of the black balcony screws depends on the thread length and refers to the total thickness of the cladding panel and the substructure to which it is to be attached.
The metric threaded screws with a deep black head coating are ideal for fixing our black HPL panels as balcony cladding. These panels not only correspond to the black balcony screws in terms of colour and gloss level, but also meet the strict requirements of the ETB guideline "Components that prevent falls". Because the balcony screws are secured with a cap nut, it is important that the screws are accessible from both sides during installation. Ideally, the balcony railing is a metal construction, as is very often the case. In most cases, the fixing points for the balcony railing are also predetermined by the substructure, so that you can use these for mounting your cladding panels. This also results in the required number of balcony screws. If you want or have to determine the fixing yourself, you should check the installation instructions for the cladding panels and the substructure in advance.
If you decide to use HPL panels for your balcony perimeter, the installation should always be free of constraint. This is achieved by tightening the cap nut to a torque of 2Nm - 4Nm. With HPL it is also important that you define one of the fixings as a fixed point and the remaining screw connections as sliding points, so that the panel can expand when heat is applied from the fixed point. This requires drill holes that are larger than the thread diameter of the screw. We recommend a drill hole diameter of 8mm and the use of a special facade panel drill made of solid carbide to prevent the edges of the drill hole from tearing out.
The head coating of the black screws has been specially matched to our HPL panels in black in terms of colour and gloss level and is therefore mainly suitable for the construction of balcony surrounds with the black HPL. However, instead of being limited to our cut-to-size HPL or balcony surrounds, the screws can also be used for almost any application where screwing is possible from both sides and the clamping range of the screws is neither exceeded nor undercut. It does not matter whether it is a metal substructure, for example a tubular steel frame, or whether two panels are to be screwed directly together. The colour of the construction or the panels is also of secondary importance and merely a question of personal taste. It should be noted, however, that you should also make sure that the panels are suitable for the respective application.
TIP: The jet black balcony screws are perfect for balcony cladding with our black HPL panels in RAL 9005. These have the necessary ETB approval, which is required for balcony cladding panels.
