Copywriter (m/f/d) - Flexitime/Full-time

Our marketing office in Kleve is reaching its limits, so we are looking for a copywriter (m/f/d) to support us. This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 working hours per week, which can be done on a flexitime basis.

Who are we?

We - S-Polytec GmbH - are a young, modern company, founded in March 2011, which is enjoying strong growth and specialises in distributing cut-to-size plastic sheets throughout Europe via our sales staff and our online shops.

Without going into further detail about what exactly we do, I would like to get to the heart of the matter.

We are an online retailer and as such our products are sold through our online shops. This requires high-quality, sharp images, a functional, easy-to-use web interface and product descriptions.

And that's where you come in.

What we expect from you?

You should make the keyboard glow with enthusiasm.

Your school-leaving certificate and what training you have completed are basically irrelevant, because the most important thing is that you are absolutely confident in using the German language. Grammar, spelling... The usual things that are necessary if you want to write appealing texts that are accessible to the world. Variations in writing style and an extensive vocabulary are an absolute advantage. So if you're able to not start every second sentence with 'and then', you could be just the person we need on our team. If you are also able to understand the important connection between word and image, you are already very high on our wish list. If terms like typography, font style, thesauri or capitals don't scare you, you can basically skip the rest and jump to the last paragraph.

Even though production is located at our sites in Goch, you will be creative in the marketing department in Kleve. Here you can expect nice colleagues who harmonise perfectly as a team. Therefore, the ability to work in a team is a very important quality that you should definitely have. You will have to work very closely with our translators, because what you have written in German has to be translated into the corresponding languages for our other shops. At the moment, this is limited to Dutch and English, but in the future there will also be one or two other languages.

• Language skills: Very good knowledge of German

• Sure handling of EDP systems
• HTML skills would be great, but not essential

What are your tasks?

Your main task is to juggle words in a stylish and varied way in order to write appealing and fluently readable texts that not only describe our products, but also provide the reader with all the information he needs as a potential customer. To do this, you will have to ask a lot of questions, because we don't expect you to already know everything about plastics, adhesives or screws. Willingness to learn, curiosity and communication should be among your secondary strengths, because research is just as much a part of the job as selecting important and unimportant information. We don't want to annoy our customers with useless knowledge.

The visual preparation through text formatting should also not be new territory for you. Whether you are already able to do this with HTML or not is not relevant. However, you should be keen to learn this. Depending on your further interests, the area of responsibility can certainly be expanded with small side tasks, but this can be discussed in an interview over a delicious coffee.

Structured, independent work is just as important as order in the workplace.
