We from the marketing team have already moved in and report first-hand on the renovation of our new location in the Hammereisen industrial estate in Kranenburg.
The move to the new location in Kranenburg got underway and started at the beginning of August with the move-in of the first department. It is said that there is magic in every beginning. Our magic wand currently bears a striking resemblance to a broom and paint roller, because we are renovating the entire premises, including the enormous hall, with full commitment. In this blog post, we describe exactly what that looks like in detail.
We, the marketing team, left the external office space in Kleve at the beginning of August and are now the first department to move into the fully renovated office on the new company premises in Kranenburg. The move was planned in advance down to the smallest detail and accordingly went smoothly. All boxes, computers and furniture arrived at the new location without damage. Only one palm tree from our much appreciated green plant collection did not survive the move in the best condition. It unfortunately had to pay with the loss of its previous rich green leaf colour. Perhaps there are some readers with a green thumb who have helpful tips to breathe life back into our little palm tree.
After arriving in Kranenburg with bag and baggage, the first thing we did was to start setting up our spacious desks and aligning them in their designated places. This was followed by the assembly and professional cabling of the computers and monitors. For this, we had to adapt the floor duct cabling to the desk heights and screw it securely to the table tops. We worked up quite a sweat in the process, but successfully mastered the task with our combined forces. Once that was done, we happily started up the computers and looked forward to continuing our work. But things don't always go as planned, and unfortunately we found out that the internet connection was not available as expected. However, we don't let something like that stop us and so we quickly looked for a solution and found it. After many phone calls, we finally received the promise that a super fast 600Mbit fibre optic connection will be installed soon. Until then, we are currently using UMTS sticks for the internet connection to ensure a smooth workflow. After the shock was digested, we placed the last pieces of furniture, such as filing cabinets and chests of drawers, and began to furnish our home.
For a feeling of homeliness, we have installed slatted blinds on the many windows of our spacious and bright office space and spread our indoor plants on the window sills and desks. Of course, our much-loved coffee machine has also been given a native place and is used and appreciated to the fullest. To round off the work area, our individual whiteboards, which we cut to size from the opal acrylic sheets in white available in our shop, have been attached to a wall that is clearly visible to all. Full of motivation, we wrote on them with water-soluble markers to get an optimal overview of our tasks to be worked on. Thus, we from the marketing department have finally arrived and look forward every morning anew to entering these beautiful premises and being able to work in this pleasant atmosphere.
Our working day begins, apart from switching on the coffee machine, by feeding our fish. There is a large pond in the courtyard, stocked with numerous goldfish and koi carp. We affectionately call these our poly fish, as they match our company logo colour orange. Hansi also swims in the pond. This is a handsome sturgeon, but that doesn't bother the other fish.
Because we are already on site, we can observe the renovation process in full and report first-hand.
The absolutely modern lounge for the team of the marketing department already invites to sit together in a cosy atmosphere. Equipped with a generous side-by-side refrigerator, there is enough space for chilled drinks and the accommodation of our break meals. In the summer, you can grab a popsicle from the fridge to cool off and get back to work refreshed. The large table with comfortable leather chairs offers enough space for the whole team to take breaks together.
The corridors are freshly painted and all the wall lights have been installed. In addition, the sales office is already ready for occupancy. However, the sales staff will only move into the new location together with production. All offices are equipped with high-quality and highly decorative perforated ceilings. In addition to the attractive appearance, these ensure optimised room acoustics. This has a positive influence on the general well-being and increases concentration and receptiveness. This additionally promotes the efficiency of our work. For a perfect view, the ceilings are equipped with large-area LED surface lights in daylight white, which optimally illuminate the large office rooms.
The offices for CNC milling and the adhesive laboratory are also ready and will be occupied together with the production and sales staff. The media room is the last space in the large office complex that is still in progress. We have big plans for this room and accordingly a lot has to be done there. New cables are being laid so that a large monitor for presentations can be mounted on the wall. An expansive meeting table with at least sixteen seats will provide sufficient space for meetings and receiving visitors. The room will be complemented by a sound bar, which will provide outstanding sound during presentations and will certainly be used for musical background at times.
We have a lot more in the pipeline. Since we have gained a lot of space on the new company premises, there are numerous options to implement new plans. These include a fully equipped photo studio, which we will use to photograph our products. Later, we will also have the possibility to produce product presentations in the form of videos. The media in the highest quality and resolution will ensure an even clearer impression of our extensive product range.
We do not do things by halves and take advantage of the fact that the large hall is still empty at the moment. Before our new panel saws can move in, we are renovating the huge production hall, including the storage area, from the ground up. We will report in detail in the next blog entry what exactly this looks like and why we had to overcome our fear of heights.
We hope that you have enjoyed this article and that it has stimulated your curiosity about our further plans. In the following blog posts, we will continue to document the extensive renovation and are looking forward to providing further insights.
We are very happy to accept tips on saving the palm tree via our social media platforms Instagram and Facebook.
