Our black end caps made of impact-resistant ABS plastic are available in the sizes 20x20mm, 30x30mm and 40x40mm and fit perfectly on our construction profiles in the corresponding design. These cover the cut edges of the construction profiles seamlessly and level with them. This can be an advantage for furniture constructions. The cover caps prevent scratches and marks on delicate floor coverings. But not only floors are protected by the profile covers. The plastic end caps also reduce the risk of injury, as the often sharp-edged profile cut is completely covered by the cap. Furthermore, end caps always result in a significantly higher-quality appearance of the construction, since the cut edges are usually rough from sawing and bare aluminium, which is accompanied by a different degree of gloss compared to the profile surfaces.
The plastic end caps can be easily attached to the profiles, as the central fastening pin is perfectly matched to the through-hole of the profile. The high level of accuracy of fit impresses with a reliable hold. Also, the fit has a positive effect on the high-quality overall impression of a construction due to the seamless transition from profile to end cap. In addition, the end caps can also be combined with most I-type system profiles, provided that the profile width and the diameter of the through-hole match. The groove width and corner radius of the profile should also match for visual reasons.
NOTE: When using the end caps, it should be noted that a firm hold can only be guaranteed if the construction profiles are cut at a right angle. This ensures that the cover cap can be inserted into the through-hole of the profile and the entire profile cross-section is covered. Any burrs from the cutting can also affect the flush finish, so these may need to be removed with a small file.
The black end caps for our construction profiles are made of high-quality ABS plastic. As is typical for ABS, the end caps for mounting profiles are extremely impact and break resistant. These qualities make them particularly suitable for plant construction for structures with high mechanical loads. To be able to use the plastic covers in different areas and for the appropriate profiles, they are available in the sizes 20x20mm, 30x30mm and 40x40mm. The corner radius of the cover caps matches that of our construction profiles and, depending on the design, is 1.5mm, 2.5mm or 4.5mm. This helps to ensure that they fit evenly with the profile. The height of the cover caps is approximately 3.7mm. This should be taken into account in the case of precisely fitting constructions, which are subject to strict overall dimensions.
The end caps have a centrally arranged clamping pin on the inside, which is pressed into the through-hole of the profile. This insertion pin, with a diameter of 5.3 mm (or 7.3 mm), is perfectly adapted to the through-hole in the construction profiles, which has a diameter of 5.1 mm (or 6.8 mm), thus enabling easy assembly and a secure hold for the cap. Furthermore, the profile covers have a small inconspicuous edge on one side that prevents the cap from twisting when inserted into the groove.
The cover caps can be attached to the profiles extremely quickly and easily. To do this, the caps are inserted into the through-hole of the construction profile using the pin located in the centre. To make this easier, there are two notches in the pin, which are pressed together slightly during insertion and result in a firm, secure hold in the through-hole. Small grooves in the pin make insertion a little easier and also serve as an anti-twist protection when positioning the cap. A small, inconspicuous edge on one of the outer sides also serves as an anti-twist protection after insertion. This is precisely matched to the width of the groove, so that a precise insertion into the groove is guaranteed and twisting of the end cap can be ruled out. Please note that a precise fit with the profile is only guaranteed if the profile is cut precisely at a right angle. We therefore recommend using a cross-cut saw or ordering the profiles cut to the millimetre using our online configurator.
NOTE: If you do not have the physical strength to push the plastic cover on completely, a light, careful tap with a plastic hammer can help to achieve a flush connection to the construction profile.
The black end caps are particularly useful in the production of individual furniture and serve, for example, as a cover for the sharp-edged profile ends of table legs in a desk construction. In this way, sensitive floor coverings are protected from scratches and marks. For seating furniture, for which our thicker profiles in 30mm and 40mm widths are particularly suitable, the end caps can also be used to protect the floor. However, the end caps also give the seating a nice, closed look. Furthermore, inconspicuous cover caps are advantageous in the work area. Here, profile ends on machine constructions can be covered to avoid injuries from the cutting edges. This increases work safety and reduces employee absences.
