The EPDM sealing tape in 70mm x 0.8mm on a roll has a roll length of 25m and is available in our online shop at favourable prices. For very easy application of the EPDM sealing tape, it is equipped with a self-adhesive surface on the back that adheres very well to almost all dust-free, dry surfaces. This makes it easy to apply to plastic (e.g. PVC, ABS, PMMA, PC, etc.), concrete, wood, ceramics, tiles and metals without having to use an adhesive or primer. For this reason, our EPDM sealing tape is extremely popular in the building trade for achieving reliable structural sealing. Especially for expansion joints, wall connections, windows and doors, the permanently elastic joint sealing tape made of pollutant-free EPDM rubber is used. In addition, the 70mm wide sealing tape is very often used as a moisture barrier between facade panels and substructures made of wood to counteract the formation of rot due to moisture.
Our self-adhesive EPDM tape is suitable for protection and as a sealing tape under all types of HPL panels and fibre cement panels. The sealing tape is open to vapour diffusion, which counteracts the formation of mould due to accumulated humidity.
NOTE: The EPDM rubber sealing tape can be cut to size very easily with scissors or a cutter knife.
The EPDM sealing tape reliably protects against moisture, dust and weathering and is used for sustainable building sealing. EPDM rubber is characterised by very good resistance to mechanical, chemical or biological stresses. Our EPDM sealing tape is impact-resistant and with a tensile elongation of more than 300%, the sealing tape is considered extremely elastic and tear-resistant. Even with prolonged exposure to environmental influences such as strong UV radiation or high OZON exposure, the sealing tape remains elastic and does not show any cracking. Even after many years of outdoor use, EPDM rubber does not become brittle. The enormous service life of more than 50 years contributes to significantly lower costs for building maintenance through renovation, because very long maintenance intervals are possible with our EPDM sealing tape.
Our EPDM sealing tape can be applied even if you are not very skilled. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, the sealing tape can be applied in no time at all without having to apply any adhesive. To shorten the sealing tape to the required length, standard scissors or a cutter knife can be used. In the same way, the sealing tape can also be cut in order to seal shaped objects more easily. While application should not take place below +5°C, the sealing tape can be used permanently at temperatures between -40°C and +120°C after application. The elasticity of the sealant is maintained even at permanently sub-zero temperatures or high temperatures without affecting the longevity of the sealing tape. Due to its frost resistance, it can be used to achieve an airtight seal in cold storage facilities or refrigerated trucks. This can significantly improve energy efficiency because power loss due to cold air escaping or warm air penetrating is avoided.
Note: The application temperature should not fall below +5°C to ensure optimum adhesion of the self-adhesive EPDM joint tape.
EPDM sealing tapes are used in the trade for sealing buildings, because EPDM is waterproof, dust proof and impermeable to air. In addition, EPDM sealing tape is free of harmful substances and open to diffusion, which ensures vapour pressure permeability. This prevents the formation of mould in waterproofing. Structural waterproofing is usually applied on the outside to prevent moisture penetration due to weathering. With our UV and highly weather-resistant sealing tape made of EPDM rubber, it can be used outdoors without hesitation. Among other things, moisture barriers can be erected on wooden surfaces to prevent rotting of the facade construction or fence system. However, it is important to note that the EPDM sealing tape should ideally be applied with an overhang of approx. 5 mm in order to protect all contact surfaces of the wooden surface from moisture and direct water contact.
The EPDM sealing tape in 70mm x 0.8mm is ideal for airtight and watertight sealing of window profiles made of PVC, aluminium, wood, etc. to the wall connection. It is also excellent for sealing expansion joints, building connection joints, weatherboards or also for roof sealing. EPDM sealing tape is used for waterproof connections of plastic panels for patio roofing or conservatories, which are usually covered later with an optical profile. The wall connection of a roof or a carport can also be sealed with an EPDM sealing tape to prevent rainwater from getting between the roof and the brickwork. The width of 70mm is also suitable for covering wider joints, as long as sufficient adhesion of the self-adhesive sealing tape to both sides is ensured. The width of the area to be sealed can be increased by overlapping application. Alternatively, we also offer EPDM joint sealing tapes with a width of 110mm at favourable prices in our online shop.
To apply the EPDM sealing tape, the surfaces should be cleaned beforehand to remove dust, dirt and grease. In addition, the surfaces should be dry and have no high residual moisture to ensure a permanent and secure hold of the seal.
