40mm stainless steel floor profiles with centred countersunk holes

Stainless steel ✓ Ideal for indoors & outdoors ✓ Brushed look ✓

Our perforated stainless steel floor profiles are made from rustproof V2A stainless steel and can therefore be used for all indoor and outdoor applications. They have a width of 40mm and a total length of 1000mm. The visible side of the curved floor profile has a pleasant, brushed structure in the longitudinal direction, which is characterised by its high resistance to scratching from foot traffic, vacuuming, wiping or normal household mechanical loads. The stainless steel floor profiles are pre-drilled to make installation much easier. The mounting holes are also countersunk to ensure flush screwing with the supplied mounting material.

The profiles are shrink-wrapped together with the appropriate installation material in a robust film to protect the decorative surface from damage during transport. In contrast to the self-adhesive floor profiles, the profiles are very suitable for floating floor coverings such as laminate or designer vinyl flooring as they are screwed in place without affecting the expansion capability of the respective coverings.

NOTE: The profiles are supplied in the standard length of 1000mm. If they need to be shortened, we recommend using a cross-cut saw with a saw blade suitable for stainless steel. Alternatively, an angle grinder with a cutting disc for metal can also be used.

Properties of the 40mm stainless steel floor profile

The perforated 40mm floor profiles made of brushed stainless steel have a very attractive appearance and are extremely versatile. Because they are made from rustproof V2A stainless steel, the floor profiles can be used outdoors and in damp environments, for example as floor profiles in bathrooms, saunas and swimming pools, without any concerns. The enormous rigidity and mechanical strength of the steel alloy allows a comparatively low profile thickness of one millimetre. The curved profile shape results in an overall height of 4.2mm, which is low enough to allow the floor profile to be fitted underneath the door leaf between the frame elements without the risk of the door no longer closing properly or rubbing against the steel profile. The expansion capacity of floating wall and floor coverings made of wood decor, laminate and PVC is not impaired by the screw connection.

The perforated stainless steel profiles with a total length of one metre are provided with six drilled holes arranged in the centre of the profile width. These are countersunk so that the countersunk screws are flush with the profile. The screws and plugs are included in the same number as the holes in the profile. These are partially threaded screws in the size Ø3.5 x 25mm with countersunk heads and Phillips® drive, whose head diameter of Ø6mm is perfectly matched to the countersunk holes in the profile. The plugs, on the other hand, are Ø5 x 25mm expansion plugs.

TIP: The high-quality look also gives furniture fronts an attractive appearance as a decorative profile. In addition, the profile can also be mounted on walls and ceilings with small spacers in order to glue in an LED strip for discreet background lighting. There are no limits to your creativity when it comes to utilising a transition profile for other purposes.

Application and installation of the V2A floor profiles for screwing

Mounting the perforated floor profiles with the supplied mounting material requires a drill or cordless screwdriver and a PH2 screwdriver or screwdriver bit. Before installation, the exact length of the profile required should be measured and the profile shortened to the required length if necessary. For aesthetes who attach great importance to equal distances between outer mounting holes, the profile can be cut in half on both sides. The perforations in the profile must then be transferred to the mounting surface. This can be done by laying or measuring and marking. The distance between the centre countersunk holes is 18.3mm measured from centre to centre. The distance from the outer edge of the stainless steel profile to the first hole is 5.5mm.

TIP: The 40mm stainless steel profiles are slightly curved, so it is only possible to mark the holes with a thin pencil. It is easier if you simply lay the profile upside down and transfer the holes to the floor with a pencil. However, care should be taken to ensure that the sides are not reversed. This makes no difference with uncut profiles, but if the 100cm floor profile is to be used between the door frame, it may well be necessary to shorten it.

The holes must be drilled using a 5mm drill bit, which must be selected to match the mounting surface. This is the only way to use the supplied mounting material. When drilling, make sure that the drill bit is straight. Crooked drill holes can mean that the screw head cannot be screwed all the way into the profile. Now insert the small dowels into the drilled holes until they are flush with the edge of the drilled hole and then lay the profile on the floor so that the holes in the profile are exactly above the drilled holes. In the final step, the supplied Phillips screws can be screwed through the profile into the dowel’s underneath until the countersunk head of the screw is flush with the centre of the countersunk hole in the profile. For the countersunk screws with Phillips® drive, a screwdriver or screwdriver bit is required. The screwdriver bit in size PH2 is the perfect choice.
