With our S-Polybond EPOXYpolitur is a special polishing paste for gel coats and surfaces made of epoxy resin. The paste is ideal as a finishing polish for epoxy floor coatings, as well as for a high-gloss finish of river table, epoxy coated furniture surfaces or hard lacquer coatings. The polish is also suitable for refreshing matt and dull epoxy resin surfaces, removing even small scratches and producing a high, mirror-like surface gloss. The polishing paste can be applied by hand with a soft cloth, or with a soft polishing attachment at low speed. Our polishing paste is also suitable for polishing decorative objects, models or jewellery made of the trendy material epoxy resin. EPOXYpolitur For mechanical processing, a multifunctional tool, for example a Dremel, with a felt polishing attachment can be used here. Such a tool is particularly suitable for filigree objects such as rings, necklaces or pendants made of epoxy resin.

S-Polybond EPOXYpolitur was specially developed for polishing epoxy resin surfaces. It smoothes the surface, produces a very high surface gloss and provides lasting protection against dirt adhesion. In doing so, the polishing paste can be used equally for refreshing matt, dull and worn surfaces, as well as for the final polishing of hardened, sanded floors and furniture coatings.

Properties of our S-Polybond EPOXYpolitur

With our special polish EPOXYpolitur our own brand S-Polybond, is a ready-to-use paste that was developed for the surface treatment of epoxy resin coatings and hard lacquer surfaces. The silicone-free polishing agent not only produces a high surface gloss, but also effectively protects the surfaces from embrittlement caused by UV radiation. By smoothing the surface structure on a micro level, dirt and dust adhesions are significantly reduced so that the surfaces can be cleaned more easily in the long term without the need for aggressive cleaning agents.

S-Polybond EPOXYpolitur is an extremely fine-grained polishing paste that can be compared to conventional sandpaper with a 6000 grit size and thus enables gentle polishing of surfaces made of epoxy resin or hard lacquer coatings, the so-called gel coats, without leaving scratches on the surface. The tiny abrasive particles in the paste effectively restore a high gloss to dull, dull surfaces. Even fine scratches can be removed by polishing with the gelcoat. EPOXYpolitur For deeper scratches, prior application of our abrasive paste with S-Polybond EPOXYsand is recommended to soften the scratches. In this way, even heavily used surfaces such as table tops, the so-called river tables, or worn walkways can shine in new splendour within epoxy floor coatings.

NOTE: For cleaning, refreshing and polishing smooth, high-gloss surfaces, a lint-free cloth without microfibres should be used.

Surface preparation

Before starting the surface polishing with our EPOXYpolitur can be started, it is important to clean the surfaces thoroughly and remove dirt, dust, grease and wax. After cleaning, the surfaces should be rinsed thoroughly with clear, low-lime water. Otherwise, dirt particles can cause deep scratches in the epoxy resin during polishing, which can only be removed by sanding with abrasive paste.

Dosage of the polishing paste

Apply the polishing compound either directly to the surface or to a polishing sponge or polishing attachment for machine polishing and spread it over the surface using circular movements. Make sure that the polishing paste does not dry on the surface during the entire polishing process. The polish can be kept moist with a little clear water, for example from a spray bottle. For large areas, as is usually the case with epoxy resin floor coatings, the area should be divided into smaller sections. In the case of wall connection joints made of acrylic or silicone, proceed carefully so as not to impair the tightness of the sealant by polishing. The surfaces should not be too hot when polishing. In the case of epoxy resin floors, any underfloor heating should be temporarily switched off. Direct sunlight should also be avoided to prevent the polishing paste from drying out too quickly. After finishing the polishing work, the remains of the polishing paste can be removed and picked up with a soft damp cloth. EPOXYpolitur.

NOTE: After the polishing process, a final cleaning with water or a little soap solution can help to remove the last veils of polishing paste. This guarantees a streak-free, high-gloss surface appearance of the polished epoxy top coats.

WARNING: The epoxy polish produces a high surface gloss and should therefore not be used on matt or satin surfaces.
