Our S-Polylight outdoor LED recessed spotlight set in silver contains a choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mini LED recessed spots, an LED power controller, a wireless remote control, all the necessary connection cables and a matching bi-metal hole saw as a FREE gift from us. The Ø36mm LED spotlights in warm white (3000K) are small but powerful recessed spotlights with an output of 3 watts, which are very easy to connect to the power controller thanks to the plug-in connections of the connection cables. This combines an electronic 12 V power supply unit with a radio-controlled control unit in a compact housing and can control up to 12 spotlights with a total output of 36 watts. In contrast to the individual components, with our recessed spotlight set in silver we offer a complete solution that contains everything required for mounting, installation and operation. All cables are already fitted with suitable plugs and sealing screw plug contacts, so that connection is child's play and requires no specialised knowledge of electrical installation. To utilise all the functions of the LED power controller with integrated radio receiver, a radio remote control is included in the set, which can be connected to the controller at the touch of a button. In addition to switching the light on and off, this also allows the lighting to be dimmed.

Features of our outdoor LED lighting in silver

Our mini LED recessed spotlights live up to their name, as they impress with their very small installation dimensions. The solid aluminium housing has an outer diameter of 36 mm. The hole diameter for mounting the spotlights is significantly smaller at 28mm. The installation depth of just 26mm is also extremely shallow for LED spotlights. This makes the recessed spotlights perfectly suitable when there is very little space available for installation, as is usually the case for a patio roof. To ensure that our lighting can also be used for this purpose, the recessed spotlights comply with protection class IP65 and are therefore protected against dust and splash water. The permanently integrated 5050 SMD LEDs in warm white (corresponds to a colour temperature of 3000 Kelvin) with an output of 3 watts achieve a brightness of 190 lumens and can be dimmed if required. The silver finish of the housing blends in timelessly modern on almost any surface colour, regardless of whether it is a canopy in the outdoor area, worktop lighting in the kitchen or lighting installed in the wardrobe. The two clamps have a high spring tension and hold the spotlight securely in the desired position. The connection cable with a length of 5 metres is connected to the short connection cable of the recessed spotlight via a sealed screw plug connection. This cable is always supplied in the same quantity as the desired number of LED spotlights.

With our innovative S-Polylight DR-CON36W LED power controller, we offer an electronic power supply unit that ensures the power supply for up to 12 individual DR-SP3W recessed LED spotlights with a total output of 36 watts. The device is much more than just a 12 V power supply unit because, thanks to the integrated dimmer and the 2.4 GHz radio receiver, the LED spotlights can be conveniently controlled. Also, the brightness can be adjusted using the associated remote control. A 90cm mains cable with Euro plug is permanently connected to the power supply unit and can be plugged into the socket provided. For the connection cables of the individual recessed spotlights, a HUB is connected, which has twelve separate sockets into which the small white plugs are inserted. The dimensions of the power supply unit and hub are extremely small, making it very easy to fit the entire unit into cavities in a roof, in drywall or in the space between a suspended ceiling, ensuring that the lighting has an unrestricted appearance.

For maximum ease of use, a wireless remote control is used to switch the light on and off and to adjust the brightness. This can be done either in 10% or 20% steps, or can be set directly to 25% or 75% brightness using express buttons. A special night light mode reduces the brightness to 15% at the touch of a button. Thanks to wireless technology, the range of the remote control is an incredible 30 metres and even reaches through walls. The compact remote control is powered by two simple AAA micro-batteries with a voltage of 1.5 volts (not included). However, rechargeable batteries of the same type with a lower voltage of 1.2 volts can also be used without any problems. If several lighting sets are installed, for example to use more than 12 LED spotlights, the remote control can also be paired with several controllers at the same time.

A hole saw is required to install the recessed spotlights. This is available from us as a gift. This is a high-quality bi-metal hole saw with a diameter of 28 mm, which is suitable for drilling holes in plasterboard, plasterboard, MDF or OSB boards for interior fittings, but can also be used without hesitation for drilling holes in HPL or aluminium. The diameter is perfectly matched to our DR-SP3W mini recessed spotlights, as we have the hole saw specially manufactured for the lights. The centring drill made of ground HSS steel is used for precise positioning of the holes and can be replaced very easily if necessary. Thanks to the triangular holder, which is firmly connected to the drill bit, spinning in the drill chuck is virtually impossible and can also be clamped in any standard cordless screwdriver.

Installation and connection of the silver recessed spotlights

Four consecutive steps are required for installation and wiring. Apart from a cordless screwdriver and two standard 1.5 V AAA batteries for the remote control, nothing else is required, as all cables are pre-assembled and have simple plug connections that can be connected without any special knowledge of electrical installations.

1. drilling the mounting holes
The first step is to make the cut-outs for installing the LED spotlights. To do this, these must be marked at the appropriate positions. As a special FREE addition, every order of a LED lighting set always includes the matching bi-metal hole saw, which can be very easily clamped in the drill chuck of a cordless screwdriver thanks to the solid triangular shaft. The sharp centring drill bit made of HSS steel glides effortlessly through light metals such as aluminium, plasterboard, wood or plastic. So, the recessed spotlights can be used in the intermediate struts of aluminium patio roofs, in protruding dormers with wooden cladding or walls and ceilings in interior construction with drywall. Thanks to the IP65 protection class, the small silver spotlights are even suitable for damp rooms such as bathrooms and toilets and bathe the rooms in pleasant warm white light.

2. laying the connecting cables
As soon as all the holes for the recessed spots have been drilled, it is time to lay the connecting cables, which already have the appropriate plug connection at each end. Here it is important to distinguish which plug is required. The black round plug with sealing screw connection must be plugged into the LED spot and screwed in, whereas the small white plug is plugged into the HUB of the power controller. Before this is done, the cable must be fed through the opening in the recessed spotlight and routed to the power controller. If the length of the 5 metre cable is not sufficient, it can be extended by a further 5 metres with an optional extension cable, which is connected between the actual connecting cable and the LED spotlight. When laying the cable, make sure that it is not pulled over a sharp edge or pulled too tightly to prevent damage to the outer insulation. A separate supply cable must be laid to the power controller for each individual spot. The number of connecting cables always corresponds to the number of recessed spotlights included in the set.

3. connecting the LED spotlights
Once the cables have all been laid, it's time for the electrical connection. To do this, each individual spot is first connected by inserting the round plug into the coupling of the connecting cable. A small notch ensures that the polarity is correct, which is very important with DC voltage. After insertion, the screw connection can be tightened. This is fitted with a rubber seal to ensure that the cable connection is protected from dust and splash water. Inserting the spotlight requires a little caution, as the clamping brackets have a high spring tension to ensure that the spotlights are held securely and permanently in position. These brackets must both be turned away from the LED in the direction of the cable and at the same time guided through the small opening for the spotlight. The last step of the cabling takes place on the LED power controller, where all the small 2-pin plugs are plugged into the black HUB. A maximum of 12 slots can be allocated here, each of which is intended for a single spotlight. Here too, it is not possible to insert the plug into the hub the wrong way round due to the shape of the plug. The cabling is now complete.

4. switch on the power and pair
Now it is time to put the lighting into operation. To do this, the wireless remote control must be fitted with batteries and kept to hand, as this is still required for pairing with the power controller. Pairing requires a simple short press on the mode button (located in the centre of the control circuit for dimming). This button must be pressed within 5 seconds as soon as the controller is supplied with power by plugging the mains plug into the socket provided. The LED lighting now lights up and can now be switched and dimmed very easily using the remote control.
