Our S-Polylight LED recessed spotlights with white aluminium housing are supplied as a set. The set includes an LED power controller, a wireless remote control and the spotlights each with a connection cable. The available set sizes contain a choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 mini-LED recessed spots with an outer diameter of Ø36mm and an output of 3 watts each. The permanently installed LEDs are particularly high-quality 5050 SMD LEDs in warm white, with a colour temperature of 3000K. These are connected to the LED power controller via dust- and splash-proof plug connections, so that the compact spots in white can be integrated inconspicuously into our white patio covers. The controller, which also functions as a 12V power supply unit, can supply up to 12 spots with a total output of 36W with the required voltage. Thanks to the integrated 2.4GHz radio receiver with electronic dimmer, the complete lighting set can even be conveniently controlled from a distance.
ONLY FROM US! A Ø28mm bi-metal hole saw for the recessed spotlights is included FREE with every set!
As a complete set, the scope of delivery includes everything required for commissioning and use. In addition to the white LED spotlights, this also includes all connection cables, a LED power controller with integrated wireless receiver and the corresponding wireless remote control for maximum convenience. The lighting can be activated or deactivated from up to 30 metres away without visual contact. Also, the brightness can be adjusted as required. Even a high-quality bi-metal hole saw with HSS centre drill is included in the set so that the holes for inserting the round recessed spotlights can be drilled without delay.
NOTE: The set always includes a controller and a remote control. The number of recessed LED spotlights in white, as well as the same number of connection cables in 5 metre lengths, varies depending on the selected set size.
Each set includes DR-SP3W outdoor LED recessed spotlights in white, the number of which depends on the selected set size. This is a dimmable LED spotlight with very small installation dimensions, making it possible to install the spotlights within the slim intermediate struts of our white patio canopies. The white lacquered aluminium housing has an external diameter of just 36 mm. The installation dimensions are significantly smaller and require an installation depth of just 29mm and an installation diameter of 28mm. Even though the spots are therefore very small, there is no need to compromise on performance. Thanks to very high-quality 5050 SMD LEDs in warm white (3000K), a pleasant, cosy feel-good atmosphere is created. The power consumption of 3 watts achieves a brightness of 190 lumens per individual spot, which corresponds to 63 lumens per watt. This means that the recessed spotlights are not only suitable as patio roof lighting but can also be used very well as ceiling lighting or as staircase lighting. Thanks to the IP65 protection class, the recessed spotlights can be used both indoors and outdoors. For example, as lighting for covered barbecue areas, carports, garden sheds or for ambient lighting in dormer windows. Each of these lights is supplied with a connection cable with a length of 5 metres, which has a 2-pin plug at one end for connection to the HUB of the LED power controller. The other end has a screw plug connection that contains a rubber seal to ensure that the cable connection of the LED spotlight is protected against dust and splash water.
Our LED spotlights require a supply voltage of 12 volts, which is ensured by our S-Polylight DR-CON36W LED power controller. This is equipped with a pre-installed 90cm main cable and Euro plug, supplying up to twelve recessed spotlights with a total output of 36W. For this purpose, the device has a HUB with six slots each to accommodate the plugs of the connection cables. The special features of the power controller are the integrated dimmer and the radio receiver with a frequency of 2.4 GHz. It is possible to conveniently control the entire lighting with the remote control. Thanks to its very compact dimensions, the smart power supply unit can be easily concealed behind the cover panels of a patio roof or in the space between drywalls and ceilings.
The white LED spotlights are dimmable. To fully utilise this function, the complete set includes a wireless remote control. It can be linked to the LED power controller at the touch of a button. The compact remote control, with a range of up to 30 metres, offers the option of manually increasing or decreasing the brightness of the spotlights in 10% or 20% increments. The express buttons are extremely helpful when things need to be done quickly. Here, a fixed brightness of 25% or 75% can be achieved at the touch of a button. The night light mode with a brightness of 15% ensures a pleasantly subdued brightness and can also be called up at the touch of a button. In the event that several LED power controllers are used, for example because more than the 12 maximum possible spots are required, it is possible to control them simultaneously with a remote control if this is desired.
The scope of delivery also includes a high-quality hole saw with a diameter of 28 mm. This is perfectly matched to the installation diameter of our DR-SP3W S-Polylight LED spotlights. The hole saw is made from a special bimetal. This means that the hole saw is not only suitable for plasterboard, plastics and soft wood materials, but also works effortlessly through hard materials such as HPL or aluminium. The replaceable HSS drill bit is used to position the holes perfectly so that the small white lights can be installed precisely in the desired position. The triangular shank, which is firmly attached to the drill bit, prevents it from spinning in the drill chuck and can be clamped in any standard cordless screwdriver with a quick-release drill chuck.
The lighting set can be installed by anyone who is reasonably handy and is child's play in four consecutive steps. Everything required for installation, wiring and operation is already included in the set, with the exception of a cordless screwdriver for drilling the holes in the LED spotlights and two standard 1.5 V AAA batteries, which are required for the wireless remote control.
1. drilling the mounting holes
A few preparations need to be made before wiring. This includes marking and drilling the cut-outs for the recessed LED spotlights. So that you can get straight to work after receiving the white spotlights, the set includes a free bi-metal hole saw. The diameter of which is perfectly matched to the installation dimensions of the spotlights. It can be clamped in any conventional drill chuck of a cordless screwdriver thanks to the powerful triangular shaft. This drill bit is suitable for sawing cut-outs in aluminium, for example the roof struts of our white aliminium patio roofs, but also for many other materials such as wood, MDF, laminate, HPL or plasterboard. The replaceable HSS centre drill guarantees a precise hole at the marked position.
2. laying the connecting cables
Before the spots are inserted into the opening provided, the supply cables must be laid separately from the HUB of the LED power controller to each individual spot. There are two things to note here. Firstly, it is important which plug is laid in the direction of the HUB and vice versa, and secondly, when laying the connecting cable, care should be taken to ensure that it is not pulled over sharp edges or with excessive force to keep the cable and insulation intact. The 2-pin plug in white must remain on the hub, while the black screw connector must protrude from the hole in the installation spot. If the length of the connecting cable is not sufficient, an optional extension cable can be used between the connecting cable and the LED spotlight to achieve a total length of 10 metres.
3. connecting the LED spotlights
Now that all the connecting cables between the power hub and the individual recessed LED spotlights have been laid, you can continue with the connection. Firstly, the spots are connected to the cable by inserting the small round plug into the coupling of the cable and screwing it into place. A small rubber seal effectively seals the connection to protect against dust and splash water. You cannot go wrong here, as a small notch in the plug prevents it from being plugged in the wrong way round, which would result in the LED not lighting up with DC voltage. To insert the small spotlight into the drilled hole, the two clamping brackets must be pushed up towards the cable and carefully guided through the opening. There is a risk of jamming here, as the brackets are subject to high spring tension. Once all the spots have been connected to the supply lines and installed, the connection cables are connected to the HUB of the power controller. Here, too, the small 2-pin plug is fitted with a pin so that a connection error can be ruled out. The assembly and installation is complete when all supply lines (a maximum of 12 are possible here) are connected to the hub.
4. switch on the power and pair
The last step is to pair the wireless remote control with the power controller so that we can conveniently switch the connected spots on and off later using the remote control. The brightness can also be conveniently adjusted later with the remote control at the touch of a button. If you have not already done so, the remote control should be fitted with batteries. Timing is now required, because as soon as the main plug of the power supply is plugged into the socket provided, 5 seconds remain to establish the connection between the remote control and the controller. To do this, the mode button in the centre of the brightness control, which is marked with a rounded square, must be briefly pressed once. All LED lighting functions are now available to you.
WARNING: All cables for connecting the LED spotlights are included in the set and already have prefabricated plug contacts. It is not permitted to replace this wiring with your own cables and will invalidate the guarantee. Replacing the LED power controller with a different 12V power supply unit can also impair the functionality of the dimmable spotlights and will invalidate the warranty. In addition, the LED spotlights with a supply voltage of 12 volts cannot be connected directly to the 230-volt mains. There is a danger to life!
