Our grey polypropylene sheets are similar to RAL7032 and are available in thicknesses from 1mm-50mm as a standard sheet in a 2000mm x 1000mm format. The PP-H sheets are fully dyed grey to ensure that both the surfaces and the milled or sawn edges have the same grey colour. Our grey polypropylene sheets consist of solid sheets that are absolutely opaque and opaque. Furthermore, our grey polypropylene sheets manufactured in Germany are exclusively solid core material from virgin material and not hollow core sheets, or sheets with a core made from foamed polypropylene. Furthermore, our polypropylene sheets comply with the REACH and RoHS regulations.
Note: The grey polypropylene sheets (PP-H) are a technical plastic that is only suitable for optical purposes to a limited extent.
To prevent scratching of the smooth surfaces, the grey polypropylene sheets in the thicknesses from 3mm to 50mm are equipped with a protective film on one side. The plastic sheets in the thicknesses 1mm and 2mm, on the other hand, are delivered without a protective film.
Polypropylene is considered stable under continuous heat and has a very high rigidity, even in the upper temperature range. It is suitable for temperatures from +0°C up to +110°C. In the short term, operating temperatures of up to +140°C are possible. PP-H is also very resistant to chemicals, such as many acids, alkalis and solvents, and is therefore very often used for the manufacture of covers and housing parts for chemical plants. But the bio industry and the pharmaceutical industry also make use of these properties.
A significant advantage of our grey polypropylene sheets is that they are approved for use in the food and drinking water sector. It meets the requirements of food conformity according to FDA and EU 10/2011 and is also considered physiologically harmless. For this reason, polypropylene is very often used for food packaging. However, cutting boards, work surfaces in the food industry or tableware made of plastic are also made of polypropylene.
Compared to high-density polyethylene (PE-HD), polypropylene has a high surface hardness and is also impact resistant. This is reflected in particular in the very high durability, which has a positive effect especially when used in mechanical engineering, or in concrete moulds for the production of precast concrete parts made of polypropylene.
You can also order your grey polypropylene sheets directly cut to size.
In our online shop, we offer you our grey polypropylene sheets cut to size in thicknesses from 3mm to 15mm, in addition to the standard sheets with a length of 2000mm and a width of 1000mm. This allows you to order your plastic sheets directly in the sizes you need. Thanks to our cut-to-size configurator, this can be done conveniently online.
Other thicknesses and deviating formats are available on request.
If you require thicker sheets of grey polypropylene plastic sheet, or larger sizes measuring 3000mm x 1500mm, or even 4000mm x 2000mm, simply email us with all the necessary details and our friendly sales staff will deal with your request promptly.
Polypropylene is a very easy plastic to work with and can be cut to the desired size in many different ways. Cuts can be made with simple woodworking tools by sawing or milling. Punching, CO2 lasering or cutting with a water jet are also frequently used techniques to cut the standard sheets to the desired size. Polypropylene can also be easily drilled or turned. The sheets of grey PP-H can also be riveted or screwed for easy connections to each other or to other materials.
Thermoforming of polypropylene is a widely used method to produce individual finished plastic parts from the grey PP-H sheets. This is used in particular in industrial production, for example of food containers (lunch boxes, plastic cups, etc.). Both thermoforming and cold forming are further variants in the production of finished parts from food-grade polypropylene, which belongs to the group of thermoplastics.
The welding of grey polypropylene sheets is a common practice for durable and secure connections of PP-H with PP-H. The suitable PP-H welding wire in grey, for the welding of our polypropylene sheets, we offer you as yard goods at favourable graduated prices. Painting or printing is not possible with polypropylene, nor is applying a film or digital print.
NOTE: Polypropylene cannot be glued with conventional adhesives. For this reason, we carry in our online shop the special 2-component adhesive PPprofi from S-Polybond, which was specially developed for bonding polypropylene.
