The white Aqua-Plus PP-R elbows in 45° design are available as connecting sleeves of PP-R pipes with a simultaneous change of direction of the pipeline in the same sizes as the white pipes of the Aqua-Plus system. The elbows are used to connect two pipes with identical diameters and ensure a perfect flow within the transport line thanks to the internal diameter, which corresponds to the internal pipe diameter. The temperature resistance of the PP-R elbows ranges from -10°C to an incredible +95°C, so that they can be used without hesitation for laying heating pipes or as hot water pipes in the sanitary sector.
We offer the white 45° angles made of polypropylene random copolymer in any quantity - even 1 piece. So you can order exactly the quantity you need and benefit from our generous quantity discounts even for small quantities.
The 45° angles are used to change direction in the diagonal. Reasons for this can be the laying of pipes along the roof slope, or to avoid an obstacle. The function and processing method here corresponds to conventional joints, which result in a permanently watertight connection by welding two PP-R pipes with identical diameters, which have a pressure resistance of up to 26 bar (depending on the water temperature).
The insertion sockets on both sides are limited by a tapered area according to the insertion depth, which at the same time contributes to a perfected flow, as the inner diameter of the angle socket corresponds to the inner pipe diameter.
The elbows for connecting two PP-R pipes are made of the same material, so that when using the PP-R elbows in 45° design, all approvals of the pipes with regard to usability are retained. This applies first and foremost to the approval for piping systems for drinking water supply in the hot and cold water sector.
To weld the pipe sections with the 45° angle, a socket welder with a heating bush of the desired size is required. Make sure that the pipe and the angle are inserted or attached to the corresponding side of the welding attachment at the same time so that the heating time of the two elements is the same. After the necessary time to soften the polypropylene has been reached, the pipe can be inserted into the elbow until the pipe touches the depth limit of the socket, which corresponds to the required insertion depth, which is different for each pipe diameter. When inserting the pipe, it must not be turned and should also be inserted straight with the smallest possible deviation of no more than 3°. Only if both are observed, an absolute tightness of the welded joint is ensured.
Specific data on the heating duration, the insertion depth of the pipe or also the necessary cooling time, can be found in the data sheets section for each individual pipe diameter on the page of the PP-R pipes in white and can be downloaded on request. The assembly data sheets also contain valuable information on assembly, as well as temperature-dependent information on pressure resistance and linear linear expansion.
WARNING: The fitting accuracy of the PP-R elbows is adjusted in such a way that the pipes can only be inserted into each other after the two components have been heated. This is not possible without sufficient softening, as the seat in the elbow is approx. 0.5 mm smaller than the outer diameter of the PP-R pipe in the corresponding size for optimum tightness.
