With the Techno Professional profile scraper in 63mm width, we offer a very useful tool that is characterised by its versatile application possibilities. Starting with the edge processing of plastics, such as deburring or smoothing saw-cut blanks, to the removal of varnish, carpet glue or stubborn dirt such as tile adhesive, the robust hand tool can be used in all conceivable craft areas. The outstanding quality of the profile scraper, made in Germany, impresses with its easy handling and maximum durability. The ergonomic handle made of lacquered hardwood lies comfortably in the hand and enables comfortable and precise guidance of the wide steel blade, which can be replaced if necessary.
From our own experience, the wider profile scraper is indispensable in our production, which is why we can also offer it in our online shop with a clear conscience. Just like the smaller one with a width of 35 mm, the tool is mainly used for deburring our milled parts. Since we specialise in processing plastic sheets, which we offer either cut to size or laser cut or milled into individual shapes at the customer's request, we use the deburring tool for all plastics that we offer in our online shop. In addition, many other plastics such as ABS/TPU, PEEK, POM or polyamide are also available on request. Of course, these plastics can also be excellently removed with the profile scraper to remove the fine burr. The scraper can even be used without hesitation for our aluminium composite panels, as well as for many other metals. However, with increasing hardness of the metal alloy, premature wear of the hard blade cannot be ruled out.
NOTE: During hard use, for example the removal of strong burrs on alloyed steels, indentations can occur on the blade. In this case, the blade should be replaced in order to achieve the best results without scoring during further use.
NOTE: The blade of the scraper is replaceable. Replacement blades for the 63mm profile scraper, are available in our online shop at low prices from one piece.
While the 35mm wide profile scraper is ideal for smoothing the edges of plastic sheets up to approx. 30mm, the wide 63mm scraper can be used for thicker sheets up to a thickness of approx. 60mm in order to remove them evenly without reattachment. This is common practice for levelling cut edges that have been produced by chip removal. Especially when sawing plastics, there are usually very fine grooves that are caused by the serration of the saw blade and contribute to the fact that the edge does not appear perfectly even. To smooth the saw-rough edge, the blade is placed completely on the cut edge and run off with light pressure. In doing so, the profile scraper is pulled towards the handle at a steady speed, removing a very small amount of the surface.
TIP: If the scraper is drawn several times over a saw-rough cut edge, the result can be optimised to such an extent that an almost perfect, smooth surface is produced.
Even though a width of 63mm may seem somewhat oversized, the wider of our two profile scrapers can also be used without hesitation for deburring plastic sheets. Similar to smoothing the saw-rough cut surface, the blade is placed on the edge and gently guided along the cut edge without excessive pressure. The angle to the edge determines the very slight chamfering that occurs during deburring and can be intensified by repeatedly running the blade along the edge. By varying the angle, a rounded edge can also be produced, but this can be achieved much more efficiently in just one work step with our round deburrer.
Profile scrapers are used within our company almost exclusively for edge processing of saw blanks and milled parts. Nevertheless, the tool is characterised by a multitude of other application possibilities. The scraper is ideal for removing layers of paint, wallpaper, adhesive from floor coverings or even stickers on smooth, flat surfaces. Thanks to the wide contact surface, there is no need to worry about damage, even to sensitive surfaces, as long as no excessive pressure is applied or the blade is not tilted. The profile scraper is also very suitable for levelling plastic welding seams, as well as for preparing surfaces before the welding process by removing any oxide layers.
In addition to the profile scraper with 63mm blade width, we also stock a smaller, handier profile scraper in 35mm. For deburring holes or rounding off edges, we have another useful tool in our online shop in the form of the so-called quick deburrer in pin form. Thanks to the 360-degree rotatable blade made of high-quality HSS steel, edge rounding with simultaneous deburring can be carried out very easily, even with filigree edge courses, narrow radii or small recesses.
WARNING: Although the blade of the profile scraper is not sharpened, care should be taken when using the tool to prevent injury.
