PTFE white as standard plate in 2,0 x 1,0 meter

Our large size standard PTFE plates in white with a format of 2000mm x 1000mm are available in thicknesses of 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 10mm, 15mm and 20mm. PTFE is white in its natural form and so our solid panels are completely white without any added color pigments, so the surfaces are the same color as the cut and milled edges. The smooth surfaces of our PTFE sheets are delivered without protective film, as it does not adhere to the surface due to its anti-adhesive properties. We therefore recommend that you proceed carefully during processing to avoid damage from scratches on the surface.

What is PTFE?

Polytetrafluoroethylene is a thermoplastic, but can not be thermoformed, as it is typical for thermoplastics, and so PTFE can not be thermoformed or welded. It belongs to the subgroup of fluoropolymers and, like PFVD or PPSU, is one of the high-performance plastics. PTFE is not only an excellent electrical insulator, it is also fireproof and resistant to almost all chemicals, so it is indispensable in many industries. Compared to other plastics, PTFE is also very heavy and with a weight of 2200kg per cubic meter only marginally lighter than aluminum.

Properties of our white PTFE plates

PTFE combines a whole range of positive properties, which also makes the fields of application of our PTFE standard plates very broad. The enormously high temperature range from -200°C to + 260°C, as well as the very good sliding properties, offers hardly any other plastic to this extent, which is why polytetrafluoroethylene is rightly counted among the high-performance plastics. PTFE is inherently UV-resistant and can be used outdoors in adverse weather conditions. In addition, PTFE complies with the very stringent fire protection class UL94 V0 and is therefore considered non-flammable. Another key factor, especially for the chemical industry, is its outstanding resistance to chemicals, so PTFE also defies concentrated acids, alkalis, alcohols, oils or strong solvents. Only fluorine and alkaline melts attack this plastic.

Approvals for our white PTFE plates

Our white standard polytetrafluoroethylene sheets have various approvals for the use in contact with food. Not least, for this reason, PTFE is very commonly used in food production, for example it is used in large-scale bakeries, in the meat industry or in large companies that produce frozen foods. Also in the field of drinking water treatment and beverage production PTFE is often used due to its many positive properties..

Alternatives to our white PTFE sheets in the format 2,0 x 1,0 meter.

Our large standard plates made of white PTFE are also available in smaller, square formats as a whole plate or cut to the nearest millimeter. For the small PTFE standard plates in the format 600mm x 600mm you can choose between thicknesses of 5mm - 60mm. Our standard plates with 1200m length and 1200mm width are available in thicknesses 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm.

If our standard plates do not have the desired final format that suits your needs, we also offer PTFE plates in white to the millimeter-size cut to a maximum format of 2000mm x 1000mm. Simply enter the desired length and width measurement in millimeters into our cutting configurator and select the required thickness. We deliver your white PTFE sheets exactly to the dimension you have entered. The cutting takes place on one of our modern panel saws with a very small sawing tolerance of +/- 1mm.

Processing of our white PTFE plates

PTFE is a plastic that does not demand a lot of further processing, so our large standard plates with a format of 2000mm x 1000mm can be easily cut without special tools. For this you have all the possible machining techniques available, which are also used in the processing of wood panels. Sawing, milling, grinding or drilling is also possible with simple equipment from the hardware store. Screwing PTFE is also a viable method of joining PTFE plates to each other, or to other materials.

PTFE is a high-performance plastic with excellent resistance to chemicals such as acids, alkalis or solvents and therefore can not be glued. Also, the painting or pasting with a film is not possible with PTFE due to its non-stick behavior. Welding is also not feasible because PTFE already decomposes above the use temperature and has no softening temperature that would be necessary to fuse a welding wire and the plastic together, but merges almost seamlessly into the crystalline melting region.

NOTE: Our white PTFE standard plates can not be glued or pasted, so they are delivered without protective film.
