PTFE white as standard plate in 600mm x 600mm

Our PTFE plastic sheets are available in standard sizes of 600mm x 600mm in thicknesses from 5mm to 60mm. The PTFE sheets have the typical white color of PTFE, which extends across the entire thickness of the plastic sheet, so that cut edges or milling edges have the same white color. The surfaces of our handy standard plates are evenly smooth and are delivered without protective film because of their anti-adhesive properties.

What is PTFE?

PTFE is the shortcut for polytetrafluoroethylene (also known under the brand name Teflon®) and is one of the technical high-performance plastics because of its special properties in terms of the enormously wide temperature range and the very high chemical resistance. The physical density of 2,3 g/cm³ in our white PTFE sheets is well above the density of other plastics. This makes PFTE one of the heaviest plastics and is only marginally lighter than aluminum with comparable dimensions.

Properties of our white PTFE plates

Our PTFE standard plates compine all advantages of different plastics, such as the admission for the food industry, the fire protection class UL94 V0 (flame-retardant) or a resistance to UV-radiation and weathering. In addition, PTFE with its outstanding chemical resistance to almost all chemicals is convincing and is only attacked by alkaline melts and fluorine. The very good sliding properties and the electrically insulating properties contribute to the fact that the white PTFE is used in almost all branches of industry. PTFE is used from tank construction for the chemical industry to medical technology to road and bridge construction.

Approvals for our white PTFE plates

Our white standard polytetrafluoroethylene sheets are physiologically harmless and food safe and therefore approved for the use in food processing industries as well as drinking water applications. For example, PTFE is also used for non-stick coatings of fryingpan, as cutting stock in the catering industry and in butchers, or in conveyor technology for the industrial processing of foodstuffs.

Larger sizes or blanks of our PTFE sheets

In addition to our small standard plates with a length of 600mm and a width of 600mm, we also offer other formats in our online shop as standard plates made of PTFE. If you require larger PTFE plates, standard plates with a format of 2,0 x 1,0 meters up to a thickness of 20mm are available. In addition, we also supply white PFTE standard boards with the dimensions 1200mm x 1200mm in the thicknesses of 5mm, 8mm, 10mm 12mm and 15mm.

To order our white PTFE sheets directly in the final format you require, we offer our PTFE sheets in white on measure. You can use our blank configurator, where you can specify the required dimensions for length and width in millimeters. The cutting is then done with millimeter accuracy on one of our modern panel saws for the horizontal cutting exactly to your specifications.

Processing of our white PTFE plates

Our smaller PTFE standard sheets in the color white are easily machined with conventional woodworking tools. In order to achieve the required final format of the plates, the PTFE plates can easily be sawed or milled. In addition, the punching with appropriate stamping tools is a common practice to produce molded parts made of PTFE. PTFE can be processed just as easy as wood with a standard cordless screwdriver to drill holes or cut threads. Even screwing PTFE plates together or with other materials is possible with our white PTFE plates.

Polytetrafluoroethylene has an enormous resistance to chemicals such as acids or solvents and can therefore neither be painted nor covered with a film. The bonding of PFTE is also excluded due to its anti-adhesive properties. In addition, the welding of PTFE is not possible because PTFE has no softening temperature, which would be required for the softening of a welding wire.

NOTE: PTFE can not be bonded due to its outstanding chemical resistance.
