Our slot nuts are available in five different versions. These differ in slot width and thread diameter, so that the ideal slot nut can be selected for every application and every construction profile. The small slot nuts with internal thread in size M4 or M5 are suitable for our construction profiles in 20x20 groove 6. The T-Slot Nuts for 8mm slot width are also available with a 6mm internal thread, so that thicker threaded bolts can be used for higher loads. The T-Slot Nut is inserted into the slot of a profile or rail and can be precisely positioned there by simple sliding or screwing to ensure a firm and stable connection. Made of nickel-plated carbon steel, it perfectly combines strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance, making it an essential component in various industrial applications with structural profiles, both indoors and outdoors.

The small 6mm and 8mm wide slot nuts are compatible with all standard aluminium construction profiles, so they can also be used for all kinds of fastenings to existing constructions. This way, extensions to the construction, as well as covers and casings, can be retrofitted. They also provide a practical and economical solution for modular systems in which components often need to be moved to different positions or replaced.

NOTE: The slot nuts have an internal thread with a diameter that depends on the specific selection. The matching threaded bolts, which are also available in different lengths, with either a pan head or a countersunk head, are available from just one bolt at a reasonable price.

Properties of our carbon steel T-Slot Nuts

Our T-Slot Nuts made of nickel-plated carbon steel offer high strength and are extremely resilient. Carbon steel is a hard and durable material that provides stability even under high loads and vibrations. The nickel plating additionally protects the surface against corrosion and wear. This ensures that our T-Slot Nuts provide a long-lasting, secure connection even in outdoor, humid or industrial environments. Thanks to their high load capacity and adaptability, T-Slot Nuts are indispensable for all kinds of constructions, as well as in plant engineering, where flexibility in fastening is required, such as in mechanical engineering, in the automotive industry and in the manufacturing of production plants.

The slot nuts are available with internal threads in diameters of M4, M5 or M6, depending on the slot width. The larger the thread diameter, the greater the strength and mechanical load capacity of the screw connection, ensuring a firm and stable connection as required.

T-Slot Nuts have one almost square and one very rounded edge on each side, arranged diagonally opposite each other. This special design allows the slot nut to be inserted at any point in the open slot of a construction profile and yet it does not turn continuously when the threaded screw is turned, because the slot nut is tilted over the square edges in the profile as soon as it is turned Due to the grooved contact surface on both sides, there is no risk of the sliding block slipping after the screw has been tightened, as this ensures a firmer connection to the surface on the inside of the groove profile than a smooth surface would.

NOTE: Slot nuts are available in different widths for system profiles with 6mm or 8mm slot width and should always be selected to match the profile. Otherwise, safety cannot be guaranteed when the attachment is under load.

Mounting and using sliding blocks on construction profiles

Nickel-plated carbon steel T-slot nuts are versatile and robust connecting elements that play an important role in various mechanical engineering and construction applications and are indispensable when it comes to erecting structures with system profiles. They allow the connection of profiles to each other, as well as the mounting of components and objects to a construction profile. However, a slot nut alone is not sufficient for the assembly, so that a threaded screw of the appropriate size is always required to insert the versatile fastener into the slot and to enable a flexibly changeable and yet secure attachment. To do this, the screw is turned clockwise. The slot nut turns a quarter turn before it jams in the slot and is thus secured against turning when the screw connection is tightened.

This means that hinges, handles, corner connectors or objects of any kind can be screwed to construction profiles in just a few simple steps and with the simplest of screwdriving tools, and can be repositioned or removed without a trace at any time. This turns a simple aluminium profile into a versatile system that allows for flexible, customisable designs. From industrial applications in the manufacturing of machines and systems, to vehicle construction, to hobby users expanding their home 3D printers, there are virtually no limits with construction profiles, T-slot nuts, screws and other system components.

Slot nuts are an excellent choice for covering system profile structures. This is a simple way to use simple means and tools to construct individual items of furniture, partition walls or screens. For cladding panels that require constraint-free installation due to thermal expansion, as is the case with aluminium composite panels, HPL or solid wood, we recommend using a polyamide washer as a sliding underlay between the panel surface and the construction profile. The matching balcony screws, which we stock in a wide range of colours to match our HPL panels, have a thread diameter of 5mm, making them perfect for T-slot nuts with a 5mm internal thread.

TIP: Slot nuts are ideal for inserting a temporary height limiter into the groove profile when mounting hinges or mounting brackets vertically, so that the mounting elements do not slip downwards until they are firmly screwed to the construction profile. After installation, the slot nuts can be easily removed again.
