Our S-Polylight DR-CON36W LED power controller with integrated 2.4 GHz radio receiver and electronic dimmer is ideal for supplementing the lighting sets of our outdoor LED recessed spotlights, for example to control the spots in different groups or to put together individual sets. The controller is used to connect 4 to a maximum of 12 DR-SP3W LED spotlights with 3 watts each, resulting in a total output of 36 watts at an output voltage of 12 volts. The power consumption is electronically controlled and varies depending on the number of LED spots connected. The power controller is simply connected via the socket. The input voltage is variable and can be between 85 volts and 265 volts AC. The mains cable and the HUB for connecting the LED spotlights are permanently connected. No knowledge of electrical engineering is therefore required.
In order to utilise the full range of functions of the LED power controller, a wireless remote control is included in the scope of delivery. This enables convenient operation of the lighting so that it can be switched on and off and the brightness of the connected recessed spotlights can be adjusted as required. Thanks to the radio connection with a reliable 2.4 GHz frequency, no direct visual contact with the receiver is required.
The centrepiece of the LED power controller is the power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 volts. The input voltage, on the other hand, is variable and can range from 85 volts to 265 volts. The power supply unit is connected via a mains cable with a Euro plug and is 90 cm long, which is long enough to insert the plug into a socket provided for this purpose. The closed PVC housing complies with protection class IP44 and is therefore protected against the ingress of small foreign bodies and splash water, making the electronic transformer ideal for protected outdoor areas. With a length of 165mm, a width of 40mm and an overall height of 25mm, the power supply unit of the power controller is very small, especially when you consider that it also has an electronic dimmer to regulate the brightness and an integrated 2.4GHz radio receiver.
A separate HUB, which also has very small dimensions, is used to connect the recessed LED spotlights. The width of the black housing is 70mm, the height is also 25mm and the depth is slightly smaller at 33mm so that the connection cables can be easily plugged in. There are 12 slots available for connecting these cables, half of which are arranged on each side. So, up to twelve individual recessed LED spotlights with a total output of 36 watts can be connected. Like the mains cable, the HUB is also pre-wired and fully connected. No soldering or screwing is required. The cable that connects the HUB to the output connection of the power supply unit is 175 mm long and therefore offers a little more room for manoeuvre if the LED power controller is to be hidden behind a cover panel or in the cavity of a drywall or false ceiling.
The wireless remote control, which can be connected and disconnected from the controller at the touch of a button, takes the convenience and functionality of LED lighting to a whole new level. Thanks to wireless technology, visual contact with the receiver is not necessary, as is the case with outdated infrared remote controls. The lighting can even be controlled through walls or from a distance of up to 30 metres. This means that the light can be switched on, dimmed or switched off from any position. The housing is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic with a visually appealing brushed structure on the top. On the back of the ergonomically shaped remote control is the cover for the battery compartment, which holds the two 1.5V AAA batteries required to operate the remote control. These are not included in the scope of delivery.
WARNING: The controller is only suitable for our dimmable DR-SP3W recessed LED spotlights in warm white (3000K) with a single wattage of 3 watts, which we offer in the housing colours anthracite grey (RAL 7016), silver and white.
The S-Polylight LED power controller is fully pre-wired so that no tools are required for installation. The 90 cm long mains cable for the power supply is permanently connected. The HUB, which provides the connections for the twelve LED spots, is also permanently connected to the power supply unit. The connection cables required for this are included with each individual spotlight so that the 2-pin plug can simply be plugged into one port of the HUB after the respective cables have been laid.
Pairing at the touch of a button
Before commissioning the LED power controller, all connecting cables must be laid and the corresponding LED spotlights must be connected and installed. Make sure that all connecting cables that are to be connected to the controller are firmly seated in the port and have the remote control ready. If you have not already done so, fit it with the batteries. To connect the wireless remote control to the controller, a short press of the button is required within 5 seconds of plugging the mains plug into the socket provided. To do this, press the mode button in the centre of the circle for brightness control, which is marked with a white, rounded square.
NOTE: If more than 12 recessed spotlights are to be used and all of them are to be controlled simultaneously with one wireless remote control, this is possible by supplying all the desired controllers with power at the same time and completing the pairing process by briefly pressing the mode button. However, it is not possible to switch or dim several controllers separately with one remote control.
Easy decoupling from the controller
If a second LED controller is accidentally paired with the remote control at the same time because both were supplied with power at the same time and the pairing mode was activated, they can also be unpaired again. Firstly, the mains plug of the controller concerned must be removed from the socket for about 5 minutes. Now, restore the power supply and re-enter the pairing mode of the individual device. A long press on the mode button for about 5 seconds will disconnect the remote control from the LED controller.
