The STEINEL® weld seam slide is the perfect complement to the quarter moon knife and makes it much easier to rework weld seams on PVC, vinyl or linoleum floor coverings. The accessories from the STEINEL® Professional Line are made from high-quality embossed sheet steel that is characterised by enormous stability despite its very low thickness. A weld slide not only simplifies precise guidance of the quarter-moon blade, but also defines the perfect angle of the blade to the weld. This makes it possible to cleanly push off the weld seam protrusion with reduced effort. In addition, the weld slide prevents damage to the substrate due to incorrect handling of the quarter moon knife or jamming of the sharp blade.
NOTE: A quarter moon knife is required for the weld slide to repel the weld.
As an accessory from the STEINEL® Professional Line, the STEINEL® weld seam carriage is characterised by very good workmanship in outstanding quality. Manufactured from robust embossed sheet steel, the weld seam slide combines the lowest possible material thickness with maximum stability for an enormous service life.
Rounded edges ensure that no scratches or indentations occur when guiding the weld carriage. Even sensitive floor coverings made of soft PVC or linoleum are effectively protected from damage. The closed guide groove prevents the weld carriage from slipping off the weld seam. This enables highly precise guidance of the quarter moon knife.
To go with the weld sledge, we also offer a gouging tool in our online shop for gouging out the weld kerfs before welding, as well as the professional quarter moon knife with sophisticated blade geometry from the STEINEL® Professional Line at great prices.
Handling a quarter-moon knife for pushing off weld seams on floor coverings requires a little practice. To make it easier for inexperienced users to work with the sharp knife and to avoid damaging the floor covering by jamming the blade, the welding seam slide from STEINEL® is the perfect complement to our professional quarter moon knife.
The weld seam carriage is simply placed on the weld seam with the guide groove. The quarter moon knife is then inserted into the carriage. The two limit clamps not only help to hold the knife securely in position, but also define the perfect angle of the blade. This makes it possible to plane off the protruding weld with little effort. In addition, the blade is prevented from tilting, which prevents cuts or nicks in the floor covering. Furthermore, the risk of collapsing weld seams is eliminated. This can occur in particular if too much pressure is applied to the quarter moon knife or if the blade is positioned incorrectly.
The STEINEL® weld seam slide is made of thin embossed sheet steel which, despite its low thickness, can result in a very slight protrusion of the weld seam. This fine degree can be removed much more easily by further planing with the quarter moon knife without a weld seam slide than an unmachined weld seam, so that considerably less force has to be used here. Slipping or canting is also hardly possible with such a small protrusion of the weld seam.
NOTE: The STEINEL® weld carriage can also be used with quarter moon knives from many other manufacturers.
