Our self-adhesive floor profiles made of brushed stainless steel are ideal for all solid indoor surfaces, such as tiles, concrete, parquet or quartz stone carpet, where no height levelling is required between the different floor coverings. With a width of 40mm and a total length of 1000mm, the floor profile is perfect for creating a perfect transition between two rooms with different floor coverings and, thanks to the powerful self-adhesive, can be fitted very easily without damaging the substrate by drilling. They are made from high-quality V2A steel with a thickness of 1mm. This stainless steel is characterised by its extreme rigidity and resistance to stress. A fine brush structure on the visible side of the floor profile rounds off the perfect look and enhances the overall appearance of the floor.
The profiles are fully shrink-wrapped to protect the flawless appearance of the surfaces from damage during transport. In addition, the two adhesive surfaces on the underside of the stainless steel profile are also protected with another film, which can be easily removed shortly before installation.
NOTE: Stainless steel is difficult to cut with a simple handsaw, even if the material is only one millimetre thick. It is therefore advisable to cut the profiles with a cross-cut saw or an angle grinder.
Our brushed stainless steel floor profiles are slightly curved with a continuous surface that is not interrupted by mounting holes. The brushing direction runs lengthwise across the entire width and length of the 40mm x 1000mm profile. The maximum width that can be covered, which is due to the distance between the two adhesive strips, is approx. 25mm and is therefore also suitable for slightly wider transitions between two floor coverings. Height levelling from one floor covering to another is not possible with the self-adhesive stainless steel profile, so we recommend using a self-adhesive adjustment profile instead.
The combination of stainless steel with a thickness of 1mm and the slight curvature results in enormous dimensional stability. If the surface is slightly uneven, this can be levelled out visually. However, if these are too high, it is not possible to ensure adhesion along the entire length, which is why we refer you to our perforated stainless steel floor profile for screwing. The curvature results in a total height of 4.2mm, which is still low enough without causing problems when closing the interior door. The height is also no obstacle for vacuum and mopping robots, so that they can easily negotiate the transition from one floor covering to the other.
The underside is equipped with a generous self-adhesive strip, each about 5mm wide, along the entire length on both sides. This means that the floor profile can be bonded to almost all common floor coverings that are not installed as a floating floor. In addition, the adhesive also adheres very well to many other smooth, non-porous materials, such as unoiled wood, wood-based panels, veneered or lacquered wood, metals, aluminium composite panels or plastics (except polyolefins such as PE, PP or PTFE) and can therefore also be used for countless decorative purposes.
WARNING: Metal works and expands with increasing temperatures! It is therefore strongly recommended that the self-adhesive stainless steel profiles are acclimatised to room temperature before they are cut and glued on.
Self-adhesive floor profiles make installation easier than ever before and are simply attached by pressing firmly onto the surface after removing the protective film. It should be noted that these can only be used indoors, even if the stainless steel used can withstand all weathers without hesitation, as the high temperature fluctuations of the seasons cause a slight change in the length of the metal, which also affects the adhesive bond over time. For the same reason, the profiles are not suitable for floating floor coverings such as laminate or click vinyl, as these must also be able to expand unhindered when the room temperature rises, which is not guaranteed by bonding over the entire length of the profile. On tiled surfaces, quartz stone carpets, parquet or even glued vinyl flooring, however, expansion is not a problem, meaning that stainless steel profiles with self-adhesive bonding are ideal for use. The same applies to furniture fronts, smooth walls, concrete and much more. The only thing you need to cut the stainless steel profiles to the desired size is a cross-cut saw with a suitable saw blade or a grinder. If the metre profiles are used in their entire length, however, this is not necessary.
NOTE: The adhesive applied to the back of the profile adheres very strongly to almost all smooth, non-porous surfaces. However, dust, dirt or moisture can have a negative effect on the adhesive strength, so the affected areas should be carefully cleaned and dried before attaching the stainless steel profile.
Once the profiles have been cut to size and the surface is clean and dry, the stainless steel profiles can finally be fitted. To do this, remove part of the white protective film on the back and position the profile with the corner where the protective film is still on at the desired position. The profile can now be applied along its entire length. The position of the profile can still be adjusted very easily because most of the adhesive surface is still covered by the protective film. Once the profile is perfectly positioned, press the small area of the exposed adhesive surface firmly onto the substrate and begin to carefully pull away the protective film in a transverse direction to the profile while simultaneously pressing the adhesive surface with the second hand. This somewhat more complex procedure ensures that the profile can be glued on with maximum precision without having to remove it from the substrate once or several times to correct the position, which could ultimately affect the final adhesion of the adhesive bond. Pressing down firmly over the entire length is sufficient. In individual cases, additional weighting can optimise the bond.
